So prescription has gone up and the number of tablets has gone down - I have to pay for everything so will soon be having to decide what medicine to take and what to leave out.
I don't know if this is any help to you, but you can buy a PPC (Pre-Payment Certificate) which works out much cheaper if you need a lot of regular medication. My mum has been paying for her many tablets this way for years, and has saved a lot of money.

been on a quick hunt in town whilst on my lunch break
cheapest loratidine (pack of 7) in each store are:
Boots own £2.69, buy one get one free
Superdrug own £1.99, two for £3
Wilkinsons own 99p
Savers - Galpharm 97p
Galpharm were 69p in wilkos last year but they don't appear to be stocking them at the moment in my store. Am going to check Tesco later but don't recall ever seeing any of their own brand in my store before.
I looked on Chemist4u yesterday for the pack of 30 that was £2.49, and for 1 pack the postage was £2.10, for 2 £2.20, for 3 £2.30 etc etc
I have been using loratidine and nose spray combo for last couple of years and have been better than usual - I get whatever prescription nosespray the doctor recommmends each year. Just about to go and book the doctors appt now.....:o0 -

Any advice/experience with any prescription tablets to discuss with him would be appreciated!
Last year I tried combinations of nasal spray/eye drops/OTC tablets but it was only when I used all three together that I got any relief. GP explained to me that you have to treat each sympton i.e. eye drops for itchy eyes, nasal spray for sneezing/runny nose and tablets for whatever isn't sorted by the other two.
My one query is that he prescribed Neoclarityn which I don't think you can buy OTC. Have asked the question on the Chemist-4-U website as to whether this is the case but haven't heard back yet. Anyone know the answer?0 -
Bit of advice - When you get your prescriptions ask for as many tablets as you can get. I use the benedryl plus ones and basically now i just ask the doc for 300 tablets on one prescription so i dont waste his or my time every month. They dont mind doing this but most people wouldnt think of asking for more than the standard amount. Some hayfever days are better than others and the 300 tablets last me the whole hayfever calender for me - all for the cost of one prescription. Much cheaper than paying £5 plus for only a few tablets. Give it a try and ask your docs!! Worth a go!
Are you sure these are the Plus versionI was advised by my dr and the pharmacy that these are not available on prescription?
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -
Thanks for your responses, but unfortunately I've tried all the OTC tablets/sprays/eyedrops in combination, worked a little but still suffered terribly with it. Think i'll just have to explain to the doc just how bad it is and see what he recommends.
Thanks anyway guys :TI may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel0 -
Don't suppose anyone knows the coupon code for Chemist-4-u.com ?0

Have you tried Flixonase?
It works really well for me after many other things failed.0 -

Someone kindly posted the following code which worked for me last night:-
10chemist4u.
Strange thing was first class postage came up cheaper than second
Also had email reply back from them to say that Neoclarityn is only available on prescription.0 -
A few years ago I found a doctor that would prescribe the steroid injection (although I had to go and find a pharmacy that stocked it.....found it at the fourth one!!) and it was fab, even though it had to be injected in my rear end:D Didn't suffer at all that year.
Unfortunately I had to move away the year after and haven't found a doctor since that will prescribe it (even with begging one year as I was getting married!), don't even know if it still exists0 -
I think in general they are pretty reluctant to inject steroids.
I got turned down by 2 different doctos, but of course there are always different opinions.0
