I have to agree with you regards to more choice of films with netflix to that of love film, but i also have to say that they need to bring forward the films that are only available by post as i am sure that the streaming service has attracted many customers from launch and will probable in no time at all have more than the post customers. The old saying goes give customers what they need and you will retain.

What about NowTV? (No experience, although the advert almost makes it sound tempting). 30 days free, then £8.99 per month for 3 months, then £15 per month thereafter.

I could accept £8.99, but £15 is pushing it a little (IMHO).

I tried NowTV for a month (with a 1p trial), and while yes the do a good blockbusters available, their back catalogue is poor. Also I agree on the pricing front, £15 is far to expensive (compared to Lovefilm and Netflix combined, also Lovefilm and Netflix have a better back catalogue).
Also another thing about NowTV is not all their films are included in their unlimited package(You have pay to rent some).
  • The online version of Lovefilm has a pretty terrible library, but the DVD version is decent value.
  • I have to disagree on the quality of streaming from Love Film. Have been very impressed with it

What are you watching the movies on? I view them using a PC with a 22" monitor. Since writing my comment saying LoveFilm's streaming quality is like a poor quality VHS tape, I've seen other movies which aren't quite as bad, but still not a patch on Netflix. Have you tried Netflix? The low quaility of LoveFilm Instant is explained by their own admission that they're sent out at only 2000kb/s.

Either on lap-top or via PS3 on HD TV. I get DVDs as well so Netflix not for me.

I find the quality fine, some are in HD too, but I guess as most of the films are older type films, the quality of the film itself may be playing a big part in the final image on your screen.

No you don't, at the moment anyway. You only need a licence for watching or recording live TV.
