I got my soup maker a month or so before Xmas, it's the jug kettle style, and I have used it every week since, sometimes twice, depending on how sorry my veg are looking.

I think I love that you throw it all in, and it does everything by it's self, and I can go and tidy upstairs or something.

We're had some rare concoctions of soup too!
Spiced turnip is one of my favourites, and very cheap. the hardest part is cutting up the turnip!!

  • Would a soup maker be suitable for an older lady, aged 94, with arthritis? My mother has developed a passion for soup. she has been in hospital for six weeks and now wants a soup maker - is it a good idea?
  • I have just been bought one for my birthday :) has anyone got any good receipes?
  • Sorry if this is in the wrong place, if so feel free to move.

I am thinking about a soup maker, what's peoples thoughts? Also does anyone know of discount codes etc around or where's cheapest/best to get one. Many thanks
I survived a brain injury :j but it means my posts may be a bit backwards or mixed up, would prefer to be related to  but fraid not.

My thoughts = another gadget to sit in the cupboard.
Save your pennies (about £50) boil your soup on the hob and blend.
Most veg will cook in 30 minutes. Quick and easy.

I made carrot and pumpkin soup this week.
Harvest fresh vegetables, served with a wholemeal roll.
    Delicious :)

I don't think they are a necessary gadget at all. I make soup at least once a week using a large pan and a hand blender.

I just chuck everything in the Slow Cooker, leave until cooked and then blend with a stick blender :)
