my friends daughter doesnt have a problem with the kids sharing a room.
its the fact that she will have to move to accomodate it.
her house is decorated and furnished and carpeted.
all of which will have to be redone out of her own pocket.
and at some time it is inevitavle that she will have to move again, as surely you dont think its ok for teenagers of the opposite sex to share unless there is no alternative?

Those are just the facts of life. It goes under the universal heading of "Sheet Happens"!

I see nothing wrong with this if they have a living room. Do you advocate Tax Payers paying me to move so my children can have a room each or do I have to move if I wish them a room each. I have furnished, carpteted out of my own pocket too,

To argue pro people like your daughers friend dilutes your own legitimate claim in my opinion.

And meanwhile your daughters friend who has their own DLA plus CB,CTC has a higher disposable income.

I cannot see how someone like yourself who has a legitimate claim. (I have said how unfamiliar homes, knowing the number of steps around your home and immediate area takes years, knowing the layout of a home etc) can be equated to children sharing.

Do not dilute your own argument with those of others is my view on this.

They are the reason it was introduced and are in part to "blame" for a loose terminology. The idea that sharing rooms is wrong is ludicrous. They should have never been given that option with such young children. Why argue pro the reason this change was given?

Plenty of people working full time are in the same boat. The choices that are available to you are limited, difficult even, but very clear.

One thing I would never do, Nanny, is envy you. Please be assured of that.

its not in my nature to think solely of myself. i know many people in a far worse situation.
but its getting to the point now where i think ...
just becayuse i cope well in my particular situation, doesnt mean that i will be able to cope indefinately.
i certainly dont need kicking when im already besing kicked by everyone else ( the system)

the glib way i was told that my gym membership would cover my rent increase ( which it wont ... it will be about £35 short pcm) when going to the gym is the only activity i have to look forward to outside of my home.

im sorry that i have a genetic condition that ius robbing me of my sight .... but i really didnt choose to have it!
and the fact that someone who can obviously work and earn their own living and support themselves and their families ( which i did for many years while i was able to work)tells me that i should expect to give up on any quality of life and merely exist ...

didnt someone once say that a civilised country can be measure by how it treats its elderly and sick?

well the eldeerly are being protected from this one... but the disabled are getting a real thrashing

yes they are and i dont dispute that fact.

what youre not understanding is that they have the ability to change and improve their lot!
people such as me dont have that option
  • I won't argue with the sentiment of what you say, but the harsh facts are that change is coming, and that change will effect you and many others. That is just a statement of fact. At some point you will have to face those changes and adapt. I'll happily sympathise with you until the cows come home. I may even agree with much of what you say. But that doesn't change what's coming, so I'd rather use my time to provide more applicable input that may help to crystalise the choices you face. If it sounds harsh at times, so be it. But it may help in the longer term.
