    Morning all,

Not too cold here today, but there is a good breeze, have got a towel load in the wm, so will get that on the line.

Need to drop dd at work this morning, then pop to the next village to collect a parcel, I think it may be her birthday pressie, I am so excited :j, its a special one, and I cant wait to give it to her.

Jackie I too have loads of Birthdays before Xmas 10 I think, so extra to buy.

Need to have a good clean / tidy through today, and post some ebay parcels, also do an online shop.

I found a couple of slices of liver in the freezer, so OH and I will have them with a few sausages onions, mash and cabbage, dd will have veggie alternative.

OK better get on, have good days all xx
  • Good morning everyone :)

Bitter cold, windy and raining here. I wanted to stay at home under the duvet but work beckoned.

Left over fried rice from last night's dinner for lunch, have precooked mince defrosting for tonight but haven't quite decided what to do with it yet, maybe chilli.

DGD is driving me mad, changing her mind what she wants for Christmas by the minute. Have warned her that this is last week for decisions and if it's not bought by this weekend, she won't be getting it. Her birthday is in March and she is more interested in telling me what she wants for that instead of Christmas!

5 more Oxfam bags on the landing to take one night this week or could wait to next weekend and try to double that. Managed a few ebay listings but not nearly as much as I wanted to do.

Shower curtain, towels and bath mats in the washing machine and bathroom tiles and grout have been blitzed with bleach spray this morning and I will scrub them tonight. DH said the house smelled like a swimming pool when we left for work. I can't quite get myself up to full Fly Lady mode but am determined to make some efforts towards it.

Time to get back to work. Well wishes for sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super day :)

Morning all-hope all is well.I've been missing from OS this weekend, just didnt seem to have much time.We finished papering the feature wall in the living room & are pleased with that, just a bit of glossing to do now.Start on the kitchen next.

We had a nice roast beef dinner yesterday, and enough left for another meal but I think I'll freeze it then I can have an easy Sunday next time :D I was falling asleep after tea,we had DGD staying over on Sat,it was late when she finally went to sleep, then woke at 3,4,&5 so still feel a bit knack**d-think another tooth was on its way.

Right best get on with a good clean up-hope you all have good days x

  • Morning all.

I've done my big shop this morning. Am using morrisons for the next few weeks to take advantage of the Xmas voucher offer.

Got a load of washing on.

When I've picked up the LO from ore school I shall crack on with the housework properly. Am flyladying and it's the kitchen today.

Slept awkwardly on sat night and my neck is killing me. No painkillers are touching it.

Need to get sorted for Xmas. I am normally far more organised but have had a funny year and so it doesn't seem as if Xmas is really going to happen.

Tiglath, if you have any cola, soak and boil your pan in that. That also works.

Jackie, I hope your daughter is recovering.

    Love hugs and spoons

Morning all, bbbrrrr its chilly here today, my feet are so cold even with a pair of tights, a pair of thermal socks and slippers on. Have the heating on low.
    How are you all?
    Hugs to all.

One of the girls from the uni has also been kicked out. No further developments from the police atm.

Ds has a job interview this afternoon , fingers crossed he will be offered the job and have something to focus on.

Have been doing some final xmas present shopping . Thought I had finished but found a couple of extra bits for dd:o. That is definately it now though. I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS;)

Having a roast today , yesterday was a bit all over the place so never got done. Will make a curry out of the leftovers tomorrow.

Washing in the machine , on the airers and in the ironing pile. DD has upped her fees for doing the ironing by £5 amonth which is fine by me as I hate ironing , she also does dsis and my nieces ironing as they also hate it. So she makes just under £30 a week and 2 dance lessons a week for 3 hours work. No slave labour here;);)

Thats about all for now take care and look after yourselves :)

    Good Morning friends!
Really not get in on here very much atm, but think of you all anyway!
DH begins chemo tomorrow so a wee bit apprehensive today ( understatement of the year!) He had the line put in on Friday and was really relieved that that was a very easy job.
Went looking for sloes with a friend yesterday - probably about two weeks too late...but we did get enough to make about a litre. Really hope they were all sloes..wonder what proportion of deadly nightshade would prove fatal????!!! Only joking - I hope!
Have been busy this morning, turning up hems on jeans for a friend and on DH's tracksuit bottoms. He still finds normal trousers very painful with his wound, but hopefully that will soon pass. He is now driving and managed to take the dogs out for a short walk yesterday, so beginning to feel almost human again.
Have just set up DD to top up DGD's trust fund...we've been making up the shortfall at the end of each year, and I suddenly realised it would be much less painful to give a small sum each month.
HM soup bubbling away so that'l be lunch sorted plus hopefully three more day's worth to freeze. Moussaka tonight using some of the leftover lamb from yesterday.
Really hope that things are going well for you - ((HUGS)) for those who need one.
    Take care.

    Hi all,

    Day off today (yeahhhh)

Have done the washing and the ironing, made salmon fishcakes for dinner, bought a whole salmon YS for £7, rest in the freezer in eat sized portions.

Need to strip beds and go hunting for cheaper glasses, +£400  quoted, so have an appointment with local independant, fingers crossed will be cheaper.

Got all of my Christmas prezzies, had to give OH his, as i,d bought him a North Face jacket (50% off plus 10% via quidco) and he announced on saterday that he was off into town to buy a new jacket  - he was chuffed though.

Will start wrapping the other stuff this afternoon.

I have GOT to get back to menu planning and cost cutting in Jan, I have saved over £100 for christmas goodies though, savings tin and n@ctar points.

Have a fab day all xx

    Hi all;

Well, Jessie-Dog has gone home now,:( and Mr Dys0n has worked his magic on the carpets.:T I await my next doggy guest – hopefully not too long a wait.:o

To answer a question from yesterday – TTFTM logically, if you were to split the mixture for one pudding into individual basins and cook them all at the same time, arranged in a circle round the microwave turntable, cooking and resting for the prescribed length of time for one pudding should work fine. BUT.... I have never had occasion to do this, so I can't put hand on heart and say yes it will work, iyswim.:o

Tiglath I have a fridge magnet that says “Raid fridge at own risk. Contents may be under a curse or awaiting reanimation.” Maybe something like that would keep your DH off your leftovers?:D

Miffy hey, you take care of yourself; those stomach bugs can leave you quite debilitated.:o

Beemuzed good luck to your DH for tomorrow; hopefully the chemo won't be as unpleasant as he fears.:o Re sloes: I'm jealous – the bloomin' Council chopped down all the blackthorn we picked from last year.

Nothing else exciting to report here - with the departure of my canine guest, and no further definite bookings, I sense the BD lurking ready to pounce.:( I shall therefore push off and find something useful to do to distract myself.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Afternoon, late posting as have been busy with physio and then continuing clearing the cupboard under the stairs! What a hoarder I have been!!! Still nice feeling of satisfaction getting it sorted out. Some for charity shops, some for ebay some rubbish.
This week shouldn't be too busy (2 day's work and visit to son planned) so hopefully will get lots done in the house and time for some arty/crafty activities.
Great weekend at OH's, watched the Grand Prix and the Rugby, went to a boot sale and got some books for my son.
Lunch will be soup made with vegetable trimmings, dinner is shepherds pie from the freezer plus some vegetables.
Good luck for all those facing medical issues and hugs to anyone struggling.

We have a close friend who has had bowel & bladder cancer - he wears highwaisted trousers as they come over his bag ;)

I've been reliably informed you can buy them from that well known internet auction site ;) but have to admit I haven't yet needed to!
