Does seem to depend a bit where you live with this deal (the underlying company is called Blackwall and they do all the different council schemes) - mine came within the 28 days (I had phoned up to check the order had "taken" from the website).

Funny thing about the delivery was that there was a ring on the doorbell at about 9pm. I headed for the door thinking who on earth would be calling round that time knowing we had a toddler in bed etc. Open the door to find two massive dark shapes outside on the doorstep and no human in sight - for half a second I thought the daleks had landed. Turned out the delivery van had broken down so the poor driver had been working late to catch up - he'd left the bins on the doorstep and gone back to the van for the kitchen caddy and paperwork!

First one is filling up nicely with kitchen stuff - (mine came with a handy fridge magnet which reminds you what to put in/leave out) mixed with some garden trimmings to leave airspace. As I've only had them a few months I'm hoping that it will be ready just in time for the Autumn ground prep season!

:rotfl: I look at mine and think of it as a dalek, I thought I was alone on that one! My dalek was deposited on my driveway, I wonder what on earth the neighbours thought!

I have got to get another one.........

I just bought a compost bin from Lidl (yesterday, a nice big one for £16.99 ) Now I'm looking for a reasonably attractive kitchen caddy (looked around and found lots of ugly green pnes and one ceramic that doesn't look the most practical)

I have one on order from them but offer may be in other areas too, as I dont live any where near Hampshire, just ordered one a few weeks back from local free rag.

Can wait to use it and have free compost :)

EDIT just checked my order and we have a Eco Max 220 coming for £8
I got mine from here ceebeeby.

    www.recyclenow.com/compost

This is for residents of Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton only.

OH ordered the ecoMAX 330ltr on Wednesday for only £9. :j

Yes, put it together last night - that was fun! It's quite fiddly, getting all the bits to line up, you'll probably need two people.

I couldn't be without my kitchen caddy, they are so useful. Mine is a boring green admittedly but it's hidden behind the door.
  • Has anyone tried making leaf mulch? supposed to be good for clay soil, trouble is I have a lack of leaves.....
