I know what you mean! We weren't secretive about the manure or anything, it was free for all to collect but then I suppose some people just want stuff to be handed to them on a plate!0

I take pleasure in sharing my manure around. My boyfriend said I should sell it but I would sooner let people have it for nothing as my horses poo quicker than I can use it!
Do you dig your manure into your soil or just leave it on top for the worms to do the work?
Completely different subject - Katskorner - what's Quidco and Pigsback? I keep seeing it on your signature and wonder whether this is something I shoud know about?0 -
We've not spread it about yet as it was enough work just hauling it up the hill yesterday! We will spreading in the next couple of days.0

I know, it's exhausting, that's why I haven't bothered to dig mine in!0 -
My compost is absolutely teaming with worms... it's quite wet and my OH is convinced it's not a proper compost.
Can you really have too many worms in there?:D

You can never have too many worms!
If it is a little wet, perhaps you should put some shredded paper/cardboard/loo rolls etc in there and give it a good stir - that should do the trick!
Oh, and welcome to the Compost Fanatic Gang - I don't think we have heard from you yet? It's great to see that there are several of us out there who get so excited about rotting veges!0 -

Thanks for that!!!
I put all sensitive papers in there... cheaper than a shredder!!!
I put my kids to shame last year walking around the village with my wheelbarrow full of horse muck (with permission of course).
It just always seems too wet, but at least there are no flies like the epidemic I had last year.

Hi!!
I have started to compost at home, but I think I have gone wrong somewhere!!
I started putting garden rubbish in it last year and I had a look at it for the first time last week and everything has just dried out and done nothing!! I did some gardening a couple of days ago and put every worm I came across in it.
Do I just need to put some water in it to dampen it a bit and get it going or is it a lost cause??0 -

Hi and welcome faith!
It has been very dry recently so you probably just need to give it a good watering, I often do in the summer. Give it a good stir too once you have done this. Do you try to put in 50% dry and 50% wet?0
