I also got my compost bin and kitchen caddy from this company, but don't expect your bin any time soon. I have now been waiting 3 months and STILL no sign of my bin, even though I chased it up almost 2 weeks ago and was told it would take no more than 10 more days  . I am now going to ring my council this morning as I am sick of waiting. I suggest you try your local council 1st. I know that mine has started accepting food scraps in the green waste bin and are giving away kitchen caddies.0 -

I got mine from my local council, free delivery and only took about a week. I am sure it was only about £6/7 ( a year ago).0

Eek, thats quite a wait! It did say in the small print 'Expect delivery within 28 days' and at £9 I would rather wait 28 days than go and give £30 of my money to B&Q. Still, I shall keep you updated and let you know how many days/months/years my bin takes to be delivered.
3 months is a bit of a joke! :eek:Single, free and young (ish) :heartpuls0 -
Tell me about it! Thankfully I am still very excited to get going and the long wait hasn't put me off. I actually started some off in my brown recycling bin, while not ideal as it has no open base, it has at least got me into good habits and appears to be doing what it should be, it just takes more looking after!0

Does seem to depend a bit where you live with this deal (the underlying company is called Blackwall and they do all the different council schemes) - mine came within the 28 days (I had phoned up to check the order had "taken" from the website).
Funny thing about the delivery was that there was a ring on the doorbell at about 9pm. I headed for the door thinking who on earth would be calling round that time knowing we had a toddler in bed etc. Open the door to find two massive dark shapes outside on the doorstep and no human in sight - for half a second I thought the daleks had landed. Turned out the delivery van had broken down so the poor driver had been working late to catch up - he'd left the bins on the doorstep and gone back to the van for the kitchen caddy and paperwork!
First one is filling up nicely with kitchen stuff - (mine came with a handy fridge magnet which reminds you what to put in/leave out) mixed with some garden trimmings to leave airspace. As I've only had them a few months I'm hoping that it will be ready just in time for the Autumn ground prep season!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
just-saving - You'll have to start saving your 'ingredients' as you will start to hate having to throw it all away when it can be put to good use!0
