    Hi cazziebo,

I'm not telling my OH about his manly compost activator potential either. Got enough bad habits already without marking his territory in the garden!

Regarding vaccuum contents, I don't compost them, but mainly because I expect there to be bits of synthetic carpet and other non-organic stuff in it. If you have mostly hair in yours it should be okay, hair, human or animal, is supposed to be okay.

I got one of the discounted bins from the council (the dalek) and the lid is really tight fitting so not noticed any smell at all

    Happy composting!

Thanks absfabs - we have wooden floors mainly so not much in way of carpet fibre. (I do find hair elastics, earrings, and all sorts of other stuff sometimes!)

Erm, is there a recommended daily/weekly dose of men's pee based on a deposit of approx 2 litres stored overnight internally to ferment?
Thus far I've been making a once a week contribution but I'm wondering if this is enough?
I do have the capacity to make this a daily contribution but I wonder if this is over-egging the pudding [or over-piddling the pile!] as it were?

Only start to worry if the heap is a soggy wet mass - and then, just add some newspapers and cardboard.
By the way. The best urine is the first 'sample' after sleeping - or so I heard from someone or other.

    k.

  • My husband refuses to 'participate' in this manner, so our compost is weeless, but still seems to be doing ok. :)

A pint! A PINT!! Is he a whimp?
Should be able to produce at least 2 litres at least. ;)

Funnily enough I did my contribution the other morning and left the jug on the cistern in the bathroom while I got up and dressed, got distracted and when Mrs W arrived home from work at 4pm I got, "Charming! Having that facing you in the bathroom!" :rotfl:

Hmmmm. Business opportunity maybe? It works for Flying Flowers - why not P by Post?

Acutally this has been mentioned previously in this thread but my enthusiasm for male pee is fast decreasing.......

Ian W, apparantly a pint is acceptable if only one pint of cider has been consumed before hand. Thankfully I don't drink the stuff (cider!!) but I can see a potential mistake happening and I will laugh.
