This is a more accurate city list (2005)...

Though Germany is up from 24,421,000 and Turkey up from 22,248,000 in 2007.
The UK is on the slide, 30,870,000 in 2007

Point being - try living in and out of London, and dont dismiss the experiences without trial. Once you have sampled both - then you and only you can decide.

personally I think no one with any sense would suggest something that millions of people love doing is something no one with any sense would do. Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -
Interesting article, thanks for sharing.
I think there is something in soft power. Britain is talked about and considered far more than should be normal for a country of her size, population and economy. Partly that's because London is such an amazing city but also perhaps it's also due to this stuff.
I've always argued we have a bright future thanks to this sort of thing, when people spout we've had it.
Go to any bar in a far flug place and you find people doing kareoke of British songs, people speaking English and British films of TV. This all adds up to something.0 -

Of those millions that do I wonder what proportion love it and what proportion would really prefer to be somewhere else."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Looks like Londons population is also smaller geven the demarkation change.
As you said, still similar positioning, even though your stats are 7 years old and likely to be vastly different.:wall:

That is around the population I always understood London to have.
Wouldn't expect London or other European city's to be growing that much in comparison to a lot on the list.0 -
If you travel on trains, you are inevitably bound to find yourself near some moron jabbering about their boring personal life history on their mobile phone throughout your journey. The other day a woman was even offering (very loudly) to give her bank details to someone over the phone. Even the usually reserved, 'gritting-their-teeth' passengers were looking at each other aghast...
No doubt all countries have loud, inconsiderate, ignorant morons to contend with, but this country seems to have more then its fair share.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.
