  • Went to Falkirk today - not much left. All display items were 60% off and some stuff like cables and covers were 40% off but all decent stuff that was still in boxes was still only 10% off, they were saying that the goods still in boxes would be transferred to other stores.

My local store in Yeovil closed today. Discounts included 80% off display items, 70% off accessories, 50% off kettles, toasters and irons. 20% off boxed vacuum cleaners, sat navs and other boxed items.

Good luck to all staff...they remained very civil and helpful throughout all the chaos today.
  • Does anyone know if there are any deals at the Birmingham Perry Barr branch?

It's easy to see if you're getting a good deal.......just google the product code and see what everyone else is selling the product for.

We were in Crown Point Leeds yesterday and we got a Hob 50% off an Oven 50% off a Fridge Freezer 50% off and a TV cabinet 75% off. We are very pleased with our purchasers, but after doing our homework, the AEG Upright 'stick' vacuum that I had my eye on.....30% off, was cheaper in Currys......so I bought it in Currys.

Must say the Staff were run of their feet and did a smashing job, I hope they all manage to find something soon.

I feel sorry for staff too too many people out of work as it is fighting for so few jobs around
  • Can anyone feedback on the 'further reductions'?
  • I bought a washing machine from comet on sunday (I did check the "normal" prices online before I actually bought it, and saved about £50 which is good enough for me)

They said it would be delivered yesterday, but it hasn't come. I have rang the store but they are now closed. I called head office/the customer service centre and they said I need to write a letter to the administration team.

What do I do? From what I've read Comet are not offering refunds on any items, and if my washer doesn't turn up and I don't get a refund, I will be very angry!

I've seen a few posts like this and nothing has turned up, that's not to say it won't though. I'm sure different areas/ products made a difference.

This is in the Q&A on their website -

If I buy a product from you now, will you still deliver it and install it for me? Providers of a delivery service are available at the store, we also have a limited number of delivery and installation slots available through the home delivery network which the stores are able to offer at the time of purchase.

When I was in Comet a few days ago disgussing buying a washer the sales person advised I'd have to take it away myself to ensure I got it.
  • We were in the Team Valley Comet looking at freezers yesterday and they were only marked as 20% discount. Went next door to Curry's and they appear to be cashing in on Comet's demise by discounting a lot of stuff. We could have bought a chest freezer for the price of Comet's cheapest under counter freezer.
