Euro Car parks fine

I just wanted to seek complete reassurance in that ignoring Euro car parks is still fine (pardon the pun!). I received a parking charge notice from Euro Car Parks for overstaying at the Morrisons Northampton Branch. I've read as much as I can on the matter and people have repeatedly stated, that it is not enforceable be it right or wrong in overstaying. They say that the signs were prominent but I was not aware of them else I'd have not parked there.
Also the keeper and the driver were not the same person. I'm more concerned about how to handle any debt collector phone calls and if they decide to shadily approach a court (I read on one of the boards that they sent court papers to someone's previous address) to get a default judgement.
So therefore, is it still okay to ignore the mails/calls and secondly is there any other course of action I may need to do and what may they be and how can I go about it?
Thank you for any help!

Euro are scammers and its safe to ignore them normally, but you say the keeper and driver are not the same person, is it a company car ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Assuming this us a 'ticket' attached to your car and that you are the registered keeper.
As per the advice I gave to ny friend's wife: Ignore it. Let them pay the DVLA for your details and ignore anything they send unless real court papers turn up. She ignored the ticket and the one letter they sent. Heard no more from them.
Come back here for reassurance if necessary if/when the letters arrive.0 -
I am currently ignoring Euro as well i wouldnt worry about it.
Simply ignore everything apart from a court summons which going by last years stats is 75,000/1 chance. Euro lost a case this year where someone had 10+ tickets so why would they chase you?
Debt collectors cant touch you only a baliff as ordered by the court, which can only happen if you lost! If you do get taken to court get a defence from someone here or a pepipoo, i have no doubt as the law stands you would win. The person who got a letter sent to an old address could have the court set it aside and they likely would have won on appeal with the proper defence.
Basically ignore everything like meeven watchdog agreed just this week! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01ny391/Watchdog_Daily_Episode_4/?t=54s

Another family member is the owner - I drive the car on occasion but I am a named driver. Does that change anything?0 -
So far I am reassured - I read that since there no parking meters (therefore parking being free), Euro can not justify their penalty notice and since they are not the owner of the land. I should not call it a penalty fine, sorry!0

If the car is registered to the family member then either they can ignore euro or tell euro that you were the driver. Then ignore as before.0 -

I will check the BBC watchdog link when I have the chance - its great that there are other sources who continue to reassure the public.
The one watchdog link I saw on youtube was posted in 2010 so having a more up to date source is even better!0 -
No it doesn't , but the RK will start getting letters that have outlandish threats of court , ccjs and bailiffs etc, you can cut all through that if they scaredy cats by popping euro an email confirming you were the driver, don't admit liability just say that they are to contact you . All you do then is ignore them, they cannot go back to the RK if you don't pay them.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. The registered keeper, is trusting me in ignoring the letters so we will not be contacting Euro unless official documents from a court are received.
Haha everything I've learnt is from reading the many cases on this site - its great stuff, I almost paid the company until I decided to make sure its from an official body and they seemed very sketchy!0
