Is there any reason you need to update the graphics driver, are you having problems or just because windows update told you to?

You're probably making more trouble than its worth.

Given they've currently managed to remove their old graphics driver, yes they do need to install a new one now. May as well be the latest.

Lum - Thanks for taking an interest.
I have just run 'Speccy' to try and find details of the graphics card.
The result was disappointing.

CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Graphics and Hard-drive all report 'Cannot initialise SPC dll' Don't really know what that means.

It's a GeForce 210 I think looking at the first page.

The graphics card driver sounds like it's not loaded but really need more details as to exactly where the graphics card driver install is going wrong.

Well the nVidia drivers are pretty universal, so it's worth a shot.

If you have 64 bit Windows, install this one: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/306.97/306.97-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql.exe

If you have 32 bit Windows, install this one: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/306.97/306.97-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-32bit-english-whql.exe

To find out if you are on 32 or 64 bit, press Win+Break and look at the "System Type" entry.

Lum - Tried the download, failed whilst updating,again.

So the install package starts, you go through the various steps and then when it updates the device driver it fails? What error message does it give? Were there any problems before you tried to update the graphics driver?

Johnmcl7 - Yes, it fails before, I guess, it completes the install.
I am sure that you can also guess that it reports 'Failed'.
I have just looked back in Control Panel/S & S/Win. Update/ Installed updates and to my amazement there are 13 updates for M/s.NET framework 4 all on 22/11/12. That I do not believe.

Something really isn't happy

Can you go to programs and features and remove anything relating to nVidia GeForce or nVidia PhysX. If you see any other nVidia entries, post a list here before you remove anything.

Then reboot and try installing my driver again?
