Hoorah for the winter solstice - the days start getting longer again after today
Just have to get through another week of work, and then I have 2 weeks off. I'll need it by then. Got Mum and the stepson both staying this weekend, so bodies everywhere. Aiming to do the final food shop after work today because tomorrow will be bedlam. What I'd really like is to go back to bed.
Hope you manage to get the shopping done okay and that it's not too busy0 -
Shopping's not happening tonight - I was fed champagne and superb food by the boss at lunchtime. I'll go tomorrow. Right now I'm considering a nap before Mum and stepson arrive.
Overheard in the street: "Not everyone has an iPhone. There are still some retards who don't." I laughed, and laughed even harder when an electric van went past with the motto 'Delivering zero emission cheese to London.' I'm easily amused after a glass of bubbly."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -

Totally avoided the shopping madness by staying in bed for the day feeling yuck. I'll pop to Farmfoods and Lidl tomorrow for a few bits, but that's that till the madness is over. Consequently a NSD today."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Finally feeling normal(ish) although underslept. Taking a tin of beans into work. If home shops are open after work, I'll pick up another dessert and some parsnips for tomorrow, otherwise I won't bother."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Gah - didn't include Frontline etc. That's about a fiver a dose from Costco (cheapest we've found), so £45 every 6-8 weeks. It just gets worse and worse
Yep, DH's eyes just lit up when I mentioned it. I'm dripfeeding him snippets on how our life will improve, and how he can have whatever car he wants as long as we save up for it first once we're debtfree. I've discovered he doesn't use all of his overdraft, he's not up to the limit on the CC and he does overpay a little bit on the CC (about £15-20 a month or so). It won't take long before he's shoving a tenner here and there towards it on top of what he already pays. We basically split the spare money in two after everything's accounted for. Technically I've had close to £300/month personal money and it's easy to blow that on work food and Amazon, but I'm slashing it to £80 (£20/week) in order to whack off the debts. If I manage to shave anything off the grocery bills, that's my little perk for putting in all this hard work and it will be ploughed back into my overdraft for now. I'm having to stop myself going out and scouring the pavement for pennies just to put in my potI'll encourage Mum to donate her shrapnel before we take her home tomorrow. Taking pennies off a pensioner - I'm surely going to Hell for that one ...
Just counted up the coins in my tub - £14 for the bank on Tuesday + an extra payment off Simply Be.
hi tiglath just to say your doing great i dont really understand how to do a spreadsheet lol, i have 5 beautiful cats and spoil them rotten as you obviously do its a personel preference but i dont frontline my cats in the winter only the spring and summer and ive never ever had a flea problem in 7 seven years so maybe you could cut that cost down abit ? any way good luck and happy :T:Txmas:j0 -
Planning some professional study for next year - the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (3 modules), and then the ICA Diploma in Anti Money Laundering (12 units) to follow that. Distance learning for preference. Work will almost certainly pay for these as they're very good at investing in their employees. That should keep me out of mischief
Will discuss with the boss on Friday. It'll be good to have some professional as opposed to purely academic qualifications on my CV.
