We have oil central heating and use a range cooker and gas fire connected to 47kg Calor cylinders. We pay £57 per cylinder and one usually lasts around a month in winter when the fire's being used and up to 3 months over summer. I think it costs us around £250 a year for gas (family of four).

Where do you get a cyclinder for £57, here if we get it delivered we are charged £87 and £62 if we pick it up ourselves.
We have a Hotpoint gas cooker, hotpoint supply a conversion kit for running on LPG, two ovens and 4 gas rings we use on average two 47kg bottles a year.

In case it helps anyone considering LPG cookers, we have a similar cooker (a Cannon in this case) and we also get through about two 47kg cylinders a year.

A quick word of caution. Do not get suckered into spending extra for a Cannon 'because it's a top quality brand'. Sadly, ours is rubbish - another product of what the Hotpoint group seems to have become. Only four years old and we are seriously considering replacing it.
