Just wanted to say Uolypool well done to you and DS for standing up to the bullies.
Yes a shame the boy has had to leave his course but its his own fault and wil hopefully teach him a lesson on growing up and treating people with respect!
Hope your son can move on from it....could he go to anothet uni if he doesnt feel he can cope with going back there?0 -
Good afternoon everyone
Gosh mad morning but it's starting to quieten down a bit now and I may even get to go home on time.
Very cold here and while it started off dry, it's looking increasingly like rain is on the way.
Soup for lunch and kedgeree (?sp) for dinner and am going to splash out on a glass or 2 of wine. I feel like I deserve it after this week.
No plans yet for this weekend but it would be good to get last Christmas bits and pieces so I don't have to fight my way through the shops in December. I hate crowded places at the best of times but Christmas shopping really gets to me.
Uolypool, am so glad to hear the uni and the police are taking this very seriously and dealing with the perpetrators. I hope they do everything they can to make sure your son has a super start to his new uni place next year.
Back to work so will leave well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super day everyoneLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Afternoon all,
Uolypool my eyes filled with tears when I read your post, why do people think its ok to treat others that way. I dread to think what kind of moral compass they have grown up with. Your son is so lucky to have a family to support him. I wish him lots of luck in his new Uni, I'm sure it will be much better.
Taplady the IBS drives me mad. I'm careful with my diet because too much wheat or anything very spicy seems to set it off, also deep fried things are a problem. But currently Totm and that is always a bad time, not a lot I can do about that. Do you have any pointers if it does start. The medication from the doctors is less than useless
Just back from a long walk, well over an hour. Since I discovered my BBC radio ap on my phone I'm finding walking great. I could carry on forever.
FB well done on the cross trainer, I used to use one when I was a member of the gym. I really noticed a difference in my bum:oStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

I'm back....... Did you miss me? No, we'll I'd not expect you to! Had troubles getting on to the site, but the wonderful forum team sorted it all out. Had letter from OHs work saying his last payday will be 22 December, so have finally got him to make some decisions. Fingers crossed we will be fine, but I felt desolate without all you lovely OSers to turn to. No one else can help me stretch things like you lot. XxxxxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Hi everyone.
It's been a bit manic here. We've had to reorganise the Rev's life since she had her op postponed for the second time. She'd got someone to cover the weddings, services etc until after Christmas but the new date is Dec 6th, so she can do some of her appointments herself, BUT she now has to find people to do things when she is out of action in January instead. It's a nightmare. If they cancel it a third time it will be a case for the men in white coats for sure.
My plan for today was to clear out the under-sink cupboard, not a job for the faint-hearted, and have a go at sorting out the R of D upstairs. I had been on my knees for 5 minutes on the kitchen floor when the phone went. I know I'm old but I didn't think I was so decrepit, it took me so long to haul myself to my feet that the person had rung off long before I finally made it. I'm signing up for some gentle Keep-Fit classes after Christmas, this can't go on.
Uolypool: Tell your DS that we all admire him for the stand he made and his best revenge is to be successful.
Off to sort out tonight's meal. Pork chops, wedges, leeks in cheese sauce, peas and carrots.

Afternoon all,
Misty here this morning, OH took us out for lunch, something I am trying to discourage as money is going to be very tight for us for a while, he pays for it out of his 'pocket money' so it doesn't really affect the overall budget but might need some of that same pocket money to balance things in '13.
Washed a load of towels which are now on the airer and banisters as no point in putting them out.
Uolypool....good to see that your son's case is being dealt with so seriously.
NPM...nice to see you posting...hope that all is well with you and that pregnancy is not causing too much tiredness.
Rang DD3 last night to tell her about BIL, she is quite calm about it so hopefully things will go well for him. He is a little better to-day.
JackieO....can't imagine you being a cranky old woman....don't want to think about it even. Glad to hear that Shelley is doing well but would advise tying her down if she doesn't take things easy!
Taplady....your pictures are fantastic...I am totally incapable artistically.
Just going to knit for the rest of the day I think, leg is playing up so will use that as an excuse for sitting down....can sympathise with you Monnagran, kneeling down is something I don't do anymore....I use small, smaller and smallest stools to get me as low down as I need to be.
Have a nice evening all, stay safe and well

....The police took a statement from my son but have said that they do have enough evidence to take it further without a statement. The Uni were fantastic I have to say. The boy who was suspended has been removed from his course permantly, and the girls are still being looked into. But its not looking to good for them ....
... I am not 'happy' that the boy has been thrown out of the uni and will prob find it quite hard to get into another, but There is a feeling of satisfaction that he has caused all this himself and has to take responsibility for his actions.
It won't be quite hard, it will be nigh on impossible to get into any uni or indeed to get a job with a criminal record for homophobic abuse.
I can't imagine the family background he has that would allow him to think that his truly appalling behaviour was acceptable.
You must be very proud of your DS to have the sense to take this to the right authorities and to go back into his house for his belongings with the other boy there, although I'm sure the police officer was a huge support.0 -
Morning all, finally back in the land of the living, Swansea trip exhausted me out . Well we went to the meeting at the uni and police and they showed us even more evidence of homophobia , racial bullying and bullying in general via the fb screen shots that sons friends had sent to the uni lecture as my son blocked them . Vile disgusting comments were made about my son and my daughter . The police took a statement from my son but have said that they do have enough evidence to take it further without a statement. The Uni were fantastic I have to say. The boy who was suspended has been removed from his course permantly, and the girls are still being looked into. But its not looking to good for them . My son was a wreck the whole time we were in Swansea and didnt leave my side the whole time, We went to the houst to collect the rest of his belongings and the boy was in the house packing his stuff up with a rep from the housing agency. He looked like he was going to s**t himself when he saw us . We had a police officer with us so had to behave where as I really wanted to punch him in the mouth. He couldn't look my son in the face and couldnt get out of there fast enough.Found a few of his bits in the kitchen were missing , plates , and some glasses and cups / The police officer said he would update the officer dealing with the theft but to be honest its only a couple of bits of crockery .
We have no idea how far the police are going to take this , time will tell. The Uni have promised to do everything they can to ensure the transfer to the local uni is as easy as possible after ds told them that he didnt want to come back to Swansea where 'everyone' will know what happened. They did spend an awful long time trying to persuade him to return in the new year.
So all in all I do think it was quite a productive day. I am not 'happy' that the boy has been thrown out of the uni and will prob find it quite hard to get into another, but There is a feeling of satisfaction that he has caused all this himself and has to take responsibility for his actions.
No nee to feel anything for any of the sum that took part In any of this. They made there own bed, Let them lie In it!
They I hope will have learnt a life lesson,
What goes around comes around! They are the ones that are now upset! (well I hope)
You gave your Kids support, I hope there Mums give them a thick ear!
I really do hate bullys!
If I were running that uni I would have them hung from the nearest tree!
I do hope that the police do/can do something more about it.
People that course this much pain and hurt, really need to be dealt with. They and others need to know that they can not get away with this sort of thing.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
