Morning all,
yesterday didn't go quite as planned as I got a 'HELP' phone message from a friend. she had pulled the boot of her car onto her forehead and cut it. she went to A&E where the wait was 5 hours or so. Time she felt she didn't have. She had been checked for concussion, so wanted to leave. So I went to Boots where a really helpful pharmacist advised me what I would need to patch her up. Met her at her office (someone else had driven her to A&E and back) and her husband and I did a first aid job. Cut was deep and about 2 inches long down her forehead from her hairline. She was incredibly brave as we cleaned it thoroughly then steri stripped it. Complained most that we were pulling her hair at the hair line! Though I say it myself we did a grand job, although I kept reminding her that at A&E they would probably stitch it and leave much less of a scar than we amateurs. Made her promise that if the cut did anything other than start to heal cleanly and without redness she was to go to doctor/nurse. Seeing her this morning to check up on her.
Then went to visit son, who had coped well with the fact that I had called and said I would be late. We had lunch then went out to do some shopping. This is always a risky activity and worse at Christmas as he can become overloaded with the sights and sounds and also he is fixated on trolleys and it can trigger an incident. He coped really well! We kept re-assuring him, reminded him to do his breathing exercises and let him collect and put away a few trolleys before telling him it was time to go back to the car. It sounds such a little thing, but he has come so far and worked so hard at achieveing this and I am really proud of him. When I think what going to the supermarket with him used to be like I shudder.
Today I am going to gym physio, then on to office to check up on friend and do a bbit of work. Home to de-clutter for a little while then pack and off to OH for the weekend. Probably spend most of it watching the Rugby.

So have a grumpy hubby this morning set off at 8 and a 8.45 still not got on the motorway traffic is so bad. We have three big secondary schools near us and I don't think that helps, plus he has forgotten his wallet, not a happy bunny.
Need to post a couple of eBay parcels today. Have the usual cleaning to do this weekend and mum and dad arrive on Sunday as they fly early Monday morning to Australia. Think my dd is calling with DGS and her new bf so will have a full house with my db and his wife calling to say goodbye. Have made a huge chicken and chorizo stew ready to defrost will serve with rice and crusty bread. Also will make a Victoria sponge. So have managed to feed lots of people for not much money.
You know before OS I would have gone out and spent a fortune on pre prepared stuff, I must be getting better.
Anyway need a cup of tea, catch up later J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

nlj - glad your son managed yday, and how nice of you to help out a friend.
It's started to rain so didn't go for a jog, but I have managed to finally get my cross trainer to work! I'm ashamed to say it was given to me by my aunt 6months ago and has just sat in the corner ever since. In my defence I wasn't able to exercise at the time, and then when Dr said I could exercise I couldn't work out where to plug the plug in to make it work
:rotfl:. There were 2 holes in the back of the computer unit but it didn't fit them, and I looked around and couldn't find anywhere. I meant to ring the company but their helpline shuts at 4pm so never got a chance when working. So today I rung them, and turns out the hole is right at the bottom of the machine, tucked underneath a sticky-out bit :rotfl:. In my defense, due to my vertigo I can't really bend over/lay down and look for it! But I managed to plug it in and have just done 15mins on it
.
Time to shower and get out for the day

Morning all, finally back in the land of the living, Swansea trip exhausted me out . Well we went to the meeting at the uni and police and they showed us even more evidence of homophobia , racial bullying and bullying in general via the fb screen shots that sons friends had sent to the uni lecture as my son blocked them . Vile disgusting comments were made about my son and my daughter . The police took a statement from my son but have said that they do have enough evidence to take it further without a statement. The Uni were fantastic I have to say. The boy who was suspended has been removed from his course permantly, and the girls are still being looked into. But its not looking to good for them . My son was a wreck the whole time we were in Swansea and didnt leave my side the whole time, We went to the houst to collect the rest of his belongings and the boy was in the house packing his stuff up with a rep from the housing agency. He looked like he was going to s**t himself when he saw us . We had a police officer with us so had to behave where as I really wanted to punch him in the mouth. He couldn't look my son in the face and couldnt get out of there fast enough.Found a few of his bits in the kitchen were missing , plates , and some glasses and cups / The police officer said he would update the officer dealing with the theft but to be honest its only a couple of bits of crockery .
We have no idea how far the police are going to take this , time will tell. The Uni have promised to do everything they can to ensure the transfer to the local uni is as easy as possible after ds told them that he didnt want to come back to Swansea where 'everyone' will know what happened. They did spend an awful long time trying to persuade him to return in the new year.
So all in all I do think it was quite a productive day. I am not 'happy' that the boy has been thrown out of the uni and will prob find it quite hard to get into another, but There is a feeling of satisfaction that he has caused all this himself and has to take responsibility for his actions.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Uolypool - I'm so glad that this is being taken so seriously by the uni and the police. I can half understand how your DS doesn't want to return in new year, but on the other hand it may be a good thing as he will be standing up to them (even though they won't be there), and he won't have to repeat the year. But I get that he doesn't want to be labeled with it all, and even though it's not a small town, the uni community here is a bit villagey. I hope he manages to put this behind him soon x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Uolypool the other boy has only himself to blame for getting thrown out. Well done to your DS for seeing this through; I'm so pleased the police and uni have been helpful. I;m sure DS realises he's done absolutely nothing wrong, and nothing to warrant such appalling abuse; the thing to do now is to put these vile little slime-bags behind him, immerse himself in his course, and do really well at it. Very best wishes to him. Have a look ay my siggy line - maybe that's how he needs to deal with this whole sorry affair?:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Morning all,
seems ages since i posted in here but ive been so busy over the last few days. So many hospital appointments and too little time for myself.
Catching up on housework is my priority for today. I need to get back onto an even keel again but over the weekend, ive got no chance of that!
Good to catch up with all your news.
