Advice on which Tariff please
Options
I have a cheap mobile phone which I use about 6 times a year so I know absolutely nothing about call packages and tariffs.
We have just bought my Son a Samsung Galaxy Y he will use it to make the odd phone call and to look at the internet
We do not want a monthly tariff so are looking more at PAYG however, I am really confused at which is the best.
Can anyone give me a bit of guidance please

You don't say how old your son is, but if dependent on you to keep him financially afloat, then either a PAYG such as giffgaff or a network like Tesco who offer a capped contract that should avoid big bills.
Remember that Galaxy Y or any Android only becomes fun for youngsters using data and data outside bundles is expensive, so get a PAYG with decent data (500mb per month if son won't be using wifi)0 -
I don't understand their offer. I read it as "pay £10 and get 100 mins, 100 texts, etc... every month, even if you never top up a penny again" - but that can't be right0 -

It works on the Vodafone network and no problems with it for me although I only use it as a back up phoneIt's not just about the money0 -

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

When you pay the £10 it stays in credit unless you use up your 100 mins and then it charges you 6p a min or whatever, which comes out of the £10 balance.
I think you get a text saying when it gets down to £2.50 and suggest topping up etc but I've never used up my minutes anywayIt's not just about the money0 -
