Parking fine and bailiffs

By that time its likely the bailiffs will be there, its up to you but I would have set the ball rolling by now. There may be things you could be doing to help whilst waiting for the breakdown. Don't forget the bailiffs cash register if ringing up every day.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The extra £245 will be for the Bailiff's home visit. Bailiff's are not cheap and don't offer their services for nothing.
Why do you think you were not able to get hold of them prior to their home visit? Coincidence?0 -

I was hoping that there was something else I could do in that time to help get this matter sorted as quickly as possible.
DO NOT WAIT!
The bailiffs will be round again and adding even more, go to bailiff advice online, you only have to pay £10 once for continued help with your case but at least you can get some immediate advice.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I am in a similar situation with parking fine that I appealed on the grounds that the ticket machine was faulty and informed the ticket officer the same day. The council rejected my appeal and I refused to pay until I received a letter from Equita.
I planned to pay this as soon as I got paid this month - however a bailiff turned up at my house this morning. I did not let him in and called Equita to pay my debt straight away. They told me I now owe them £380 rather than £80 my original debt.
I panicked and paid them straight away - I'm now wondering whether this was the right thing to do after talking to friends and family. If not - are there any steps I can take going forward?0 -

Now you've paid its highly unlikely you will ever see your money back. Sorry. At least, by paying now, they won't rachet up the charges.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Help! Equita sent the Bailiff before I received the letter. They also seem to employ really argumentative staff to wind up and talk over clients in order to get through their day. I can't believe this is not part of their training.
So 20th Bailiff comes and takes £328 from my husband using my card, without them asking me, and then I get the letter on the 28th saying I owe £125….. now they say this is fine. What is going on? I've contacted my credit card company and disputed the payment on the grounds that I didn't authorise it and it's fraudulent as they had no right to take it…..0 -
This may be reversed. Assuming hubby handed over your card, then he is either fraudulently using it, or you agreed he could. The reversal restarts the action and the costs rise again.0

Please don't hijack other people's threads, the advice on what to do is already on here, but start your own thread to discuss this further.
