Parking fine and bailiffs

Dear All,
Apologies if this has been asked before however:
My partner received a parking fine from Sheffield city council. I normally deal with our paper work but last year I was heavily pregnant and in and out of hospital. So my partner never mentioned it and then forgot all about it. until we received notice that the fine had been deferred this to the Equita bailiffs.
My partner contacted them and agreed on a payment plan. We were told that we'd receive some payment slips in the post, these never arrived. So I emailed twice more requesting that the slips be sent out, they never were. So 14 days passed and we received a letter stating our file was now with a bailiff.
I then emailed them again requesting a breakdown of charges. We received this letter yesterday (dated the 13th November) -
Debt - 112.00
initial letter - 11.20
giro book - 4.85
V.A.T - 3.21
TOTAL 131.26
I tried to phone the bailiff yesterday to pay the full balance, she didn't answer my call. Then this morning I returned from taking my daughter to school, to find a hand delivered letter.
My partner rang her and as agreed on a payment plan of 50 pound a week. But she is saying that we now owe 376.00.
How can we owe a extra 245 pound in 48 hours ?
I would appreciate any insight.
Thank you.

Have a look at this in the meantime

Better still have a look at:
http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/
Sheila posts on here occasionally and although it will cost you a flat fee of £10 you will receive specific advice to your case.
I am not in anyway linked to the website and do not benefit in anyway from recommending it. I do so because Sheila has in-depth personal knowledge and doesn't need to read from a script - which is what many CAB advisers do. With due respect to them.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Thank you for all your replies.
I have requested a second breakdown of the charges and once I receive this I will use this service.0 -
You will be asked what paperwork you had as you would likely had penalty charge notice, notice to owner, charge certificate, order for recovery etc. BAO will need all of these.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The only paper work I have is 3 letters from equita. My partner binned the letters from before the equita were involved in the hope it would disappear.0

I'd just like to say I'm not in any way affiliated with the opening poster.:D0

You have been told that bailiffadviceonline is the best. What more do you need?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

As I said I'll use that service once I have received the letter with the breakdown of costs. This could take up to 14 days,
I was hoping that there was something else I could do in that time to help get this matter sorted as quickly as possible.0
