  • Hmm... maybe the qualification involves being fluent in an obscure and difficult language?
That's the only thing I can think of that makes sense. Of course, perhaps none of this makes sense...

This is the most entertaining thread I've seen on here for ages. I'm definitely subscribing!

My guess on the SD's qualification is either she works in an office and it's the ECDL, or she works in an old people's home and it's some sort of dignity and respect course.

I wonder how long OP will keep drip feeding info before getting bored of keeping us all guessing and disappearing?

ditto southend1, it's turned into a bit of a giggle, really. :rotfl:

IMO the OP is not going to tell us what this "mystery qualification" is, because:

    1) she rather likes the way people are guessing and taking an interest and 2) if she did we'd probably discover that the 'special' qualification (that the step-daughter has succeeded in gaining while many of her colleagues, even the manager, have failed.. *seeks roll-eyes smiley*) is probably quite run-of-the mill, and loads of people have it..!

    It certainly could be!

I must admit I could only think that a 9 day qualification that gave the holder a legal status over other staff must have been a Health & Safety Certificate.
You have obviously been thinking laterally!

Only other thing I could think of is that she is a horse whisperer
(but I couldn't see how it would benefit literally 1,000's of people)
There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.
  • dizzyrascal i agree I think it will be something H&S related or the other gem we all love something to do with 'risk assessments'

Either way the OP has stopped posting because she knows that more and more people are picking holes with the story as in - a part time 17 year old with a highly legal qualification (which don't forget her Manager failed) got sacked for displaying and in her words 'an obscene image'. Now it comes to light another employee who was also sacked is taking legal action which 'will' work as it is related to the sacking of her DSD by which we have no idea how!

Also don't forget the man at the 'top' was unaware and is now not happy - because lets face it every organisation has the MD fawning over a part time just left school employee over a Manager full time who has been there for probably years  ;)

The course I posted was what Google threw up when I searched for 9 hour courses. Another alternative was a salsa course... :rotfl:

    Wow, 1 whole hour!
I hope I never work somewhere you are responsible for carrying out risk assessments!
