I am about to upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy Apollo to a Samsung S3 - old and new contracts all with Orange. The Galaxy phone was new two years ago with a new phone number at the time. Orange say I can keep the same number with my new phone but will need a new Sim card. Any reason for this and will I be charged for the new card?

  • Hi,

The S3 takes a micro sim card so smaller than the one you currently have. I've just got an S3 and had to change mine as well. Vodafone did it instantly though so no issues at all.

Enjot the S3 its a great phone.

This may have changed, but they used to like robbing their customers not that long time ago:
How the hell can Orange do this?

You can just cut the old sim to the new size.

You always get a new sim card when you upgrade with orange, its standard procedure, no idea why. They even do it when the old and new card are the same size. They dont charge for it.
