Concerned mum you did the correct thing talking to your OH it goes to show you don’t all ways get the reaction you expected. Many people find it hard to bring concerns about this subject out. There are many many children out there suffering in silence at the hands of these kinds of people, thinking they will not be believed if they tell which breaks my heart. There are also many adults whom suffered as child at the hands of these kind of people hiding there secret still suffering from what has happed to them in the passed, and feel they had no one to turn too. Adults who have suffered at the hands of these people have an opportunity to get justest for historical cases; it’s looked at no less as if it had happened today IMHO.

They reckon most paedophiles who abuse do so by dating single mums with young(er) children.

If i were you, i'd report it.
slightly off topic, but most paedophiles are related to children / are in positions of trust and friendship with children and their families. Stranger Danger is over stated in reports etc of child abuse when it's usually dad/ grandad/ Uncle Bill/ big brother etc responsible for the most penicious and long term abuse.

I'd still make the police aware of why he was sacked. And don't be scared to tell other people why he left his job either. The more people that know, the more will steer clear of leaving him babysitting their kids, for example.

I'd call the police anonomusly (sp?)
I'd be devastated to find out he had done something and I hadn't said anything and prevented it.

I would have to tell her after all you have kids yourself and I am sure if someone you knew kept something like this from you when they knew he had a track record with this sort of thing then you would be extreamly annoyed if nothing was mention and one of your children had been interfeared with.

However this may cause problems between you and your husband as you have mentioned in your original posting that he wont talk about it so how will he react if you start getting further involved in the situation.

I surpose it all comes down to the question
Woud you be able to cope if you found out that your brother in law interfered with this girl? and it could have been stoped

I hope that you come to a decission that you feel happy with and that everything works out alright in the end.

sorry I missed a few of the postings at the bottom so ignore my other posting as I have read the 1s that I had previusly missed (I must have gone blind)

I am glad that you spoke to your husband about it and that you have managed to sort things out.
