what a horrible situation.
you know you should be going to the police... by posting and asking for advice this little girl is on your conscience. what the others have said is true, you should go through the proper channels and have this investigated before anyone else gets hurt. IMHO you do not need to think twice about this - you and your hubby should do the right thing. i agree that a lot of this stuff can be exaggerated hear say but the police will investigate and only prosecute if necessary. they need to be given this information so they can do their job properly.0 -
Please, please report your concerns.
You are not accusing him, just making someone in a position of authority aware of your concerns.
I know it is a difficult decision to take, but in circumstances like this I would rather be wrong 99% of the time, than let that vile 1% get away with it.Gone ... or have I?0 -
You need to act now to minimise potential risk to this lady, and more importantly, her daughter. How would you feel if something happened, and then you would be saying 'if only....'.
With what you know, now is the time to act, contact the police and go through the appropriate channels.0 -

he could have had access to other young children in the past 2 years. please report it - if you are wrong then nothing will happen.
it may mean he can identify you though, or at least his old manager may be able to - if you were the only people he told about the computer.
but the manager should have gone to the police anyhow - it's not his place to decide that your child needs protecting from him but other people's children aren't important.
although the BIL doesn't sound like a lovely man it may be that he fell out with his manager and the manager was being spiteful - you never know.'bad mothers club' member 13

Report it. A report that turns out to be false might be a bit embarrassing but leaving it unreported and then discovering that something happened would be very hard to live with.0

I would report it - either go and have a chat down at the local police station about your concerns, or you could ring the NSPCC (anonymously if you like), and tell them your concerns about this guy:

I don't like reporting anyone for anything, but it's not worth a child being put at risk.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Report your concerns and allow the police to investigate.
If I found out my brother had paedophile tendencies, it would not just be contact I would want to cut off.0 -
Thanks for all the advice so far, its very much appreciated. I went against my instincts last night and told my hubby, basically I said what I said in the OP, his reaction was totally opposite to what i expected and he was actually quite concerned, the result was he phoned "X" to ask a few guarded questions, just said he wanted to know who is brother is getting involved with because of rumours, X is good mates with both my hubby and his brother (they all went to school together) X knows nothing about BIL's reason for losing his job, anyway it turns out that most of the story is true, but, thank god, the womans daughter is actually about 16, which was a relief. My OH's attitude now is that they (the woman and his brother) are both adults and there has been no (legal) crime committed, although I find it disgusting that a man shares porno of his disabled girlfriend around a pub!0
