I recently upped my contract with o2 and have since left my job etc and am really struggling but there is no option when I log in to go back to my original tariff and when I asked about it o2 told me it is o2's policy you can't go back - doesn't sound quite right to me??

Some allow you to move down a level after a certain time but not all do.

I dont think Vodafone do either.

How long is the contract for? Sell the phone and use that money to pay towards the contract?

Doesn't sound right to me either. Some 'policy' cannot override the original contract. If they allow to move to a higher tariff, there is no reason for not allowing to move to a lower one as long as it is the same or more expensive than the original.

Do you up your contract or enter into a higher tariff with a new phone?

Did you upgrade to new handset on a higher plan ? You can revert to the plan your contract/upgrade was taken on at any time, even if you went up whatever plan you can always revert back to a plan you joined on (if still available) or current plans at the nearest same cost price.

What plan did you join/upgrade on & what plan are you currently on ?
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

It's a blackberry on a £15 a month contract with £6 blackberry data bolt on making it £21 - 200 mins, unlimited text and whatever amount of data it is can't remember.. They are telling me I can't go back after going up to £32 which I now cannot afford. No new handset, just change of tariff.
  • Sounds like baloney to me - you committed to 12/18/24 payments of £21; if you didn't recommit when you changed price plan I'd go through their complaints policy. As an aside - I joined o2 on a £10.50 sim only, upped it to on and on @£20, and have just reduced it.

    Silly o2.

When did you take the contract out?

If the old tarriff has been retied then yuo cannot move back to it as it will be closed off. It may be the back office staff can help but it will not be a selection on frontline customer services screens or the online selection.
