The thing is you have 20 years experience in accounts but no aat, why don't ou use this time to qualify or get some qualifications in your field.
The job market is extremely difficult at the moment and your negativity comes across. Do something positive and show an employer that.0 -

You will get a job if you believe you can! The longer you are out of work the more disheartening it gets... But only you can do it, only you can change your path and being negative ont help you.
Ok have you offered an employer a work trial, have you had you cv and covering letter reviewed?0 -
Children, children. Enough already.MissSarah1972 wrote: »I have no £ for an AAT and before you ask I asked this in the 28 mins at the work programme and they said they can not fund that and even if I did an AAT (I can start at stage 3 as I have already contacted them a while ago and did a test), there would be no point in doing it at all because as you all say I wont get a job.
Miss Sarah, if I may be so bold as to offer some advice. I CBA to read back through everything to see if you mention how long you've been unemployed for, but clearly you're long term else you wouldn't be on the Work Programme now. Unless you've been fast-tracked because you're fresh out of prison. But anyways, some advice. I suspect you won't take it because no doubt you know best but here you go anyway. If you've come to the conclusion that its unrealistic for you to aim for accountancy or similar without AAT, maybe, and hear me out here, maybe you need to start looking for other work? Shock horror. It's recognised that given a choice employers would often rather chose someone who is already in a job, regardless of what it is, instead of someone who's been unemployed for some time.
It's not too late for all those seasonal retail jobs you know. I'm sure you'd be fine with the adding up. Your chances of getting into the work you aspire to would be improved by you just doing any work.
Hope you don't mind me saying. Just trying to help0 -

What makes you say that? Seriously?0 -
If someone is long term unemployed but have been trying then it is enormously depressing and destroys your confidence, the constant rejections for jobs you know you could do in your sleep.0
