When we were working toether I asked him to form a ltd company and sort out the share ownerships and everything, but he get pushing it back. His mistake!
He then borrowed £1200 for a short term loan and took forever paying it back, it got ridiculous to the point that I had to phone him 2-3 times a week to ask him to pay, each time made a dumb scuse to delay paying. In the end I was at the end of my tether and just pulled out from the business deal. I got some money back but not all. He's now trying to compete with me the OP is part of the long seriess of issues with him (something that I should have expected, and it's not like him to take the defeat and move along, so he's needlessly going to try and copy me).
he's also blacklisted from getting a payment terminal as it was revoked 2 times, and other issues.
i'm a marketer primarily not a businessman. The plan was that I do all the marketing, hire designers and programmers and work on getting traffic to the website, and he fund the business and hire staff to run it day to day.
but I ended up doing almost all of these things myself which cost me time and money. I was then looking at the prospect of opening a merchant account and terminal, then I realised that if I sign up under my name and then hand him control over the terminal he's going to do so lousy transactions and get me blacklisted as well.
In the end I decided it's best of I go at it alone. It's too much risk working with him and he's bringing very little to the table.
The only thing he was doing was answering the telephone calls and dealing with b2b enquiries which is basically 3 calls a day max. he was talking to me like I betrayed him so bad and ripped him off and took advantager of his time etc.
The fact of the matter was he his name is dotted all over the web for not providing goods, he's blacklisted and has poor credit history, and he's a liability.
There is no point going down the legal route, it will just benefit the solicitors and get him a fat comission and nothing will come of it. Him repolicating my website is no threat what so ever, he doesn't have the marketing skills to get the customers that I can. If anyything he's wasting his time developing the websites and stuff so waste of resources for him.
Sounds like you have had a right 'mare' with him so feel for you. At the risk of sounding like some kind of sales pitch, should you need any assistance with design, programming or digital marketing or design then get in touch. I won't post my site here as that really would take the !!!!!

If you're that worried about the legality of the content you are redirecting to, why not just redirect it to the hamster dance or Rick Astley or something?0

when he goes to ur url he is being redirected to an ip. so directing sombody to a differnt ip is in no way illegal.0

it's grey... if you redirect them to a site that automatically installs a bunch of malware then someone might have a civil case against you, especially since you know that your competitor is visiting your site, it could be seen as trying to do deliberate damage to their systems.
Personally if someone was stealing my images I'd redirect them to another version of my site where all the images are .GIFs that after a minute or so change to something silly.0 -
there was no formal agreement, so there is not need to dissolve anything.
Nevertheless you clearly had a business relationship with him, whether you have a written agreement or not. A contract clearly exists in law.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Or ... redirect back to his OWN website?

Could you be a little cheekier about it, and have all your articles rendered with just random clippings of random wikipedia articles? It'll look exactly the same as before, but the text is just going to infuriate anyone who wants to paraphrase the articles...but still take their time?0

Negative SEO the hell out of their site.0

If you have to ask then surely you should know that at the very least it is dodgy, then YOU are liable for sending customers/surfers/them to such a location. Even if you didn't know it is dodgy you will still be liable if someone wishes to sue as you are responsible for this "joke". If it happens to be a child that stumbles onto that site of yours and you bounce them onto a clearly adult location then you are breaking the law and can be put on the register and I will have no sympathy for you.
The internet has grown up from being a free-for-all where anything goes, if Google or any of the top providers get wind of this dodgy IP/site link then it will not hesitate to blacklist you and then that is that, it will be much more costly to get people coming to you.
Your only recourse is through the courts to get the matter resolved through the proper channels if you cannot do it yourself, this tit for tat escalation just basically shows how immature both of you are and quite frankly one or both of you are going to get yourselves into some serious deep water if you do not step back and consider what you are doing."Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0
