Stone, you clearly are not a seller. If you need help we can assist, but please don't give incorrect information out.
I understand that eBay can be complicated for some, but there is a wealth of knowledge here.
The OP is liable to a return for 45 days from date of purchase, if you don't believe it, then don't, but try it......180 days if you really know how.0 -
Any chance you could point me to the rule stating a private seller has to offer a 45 (or 180) day guarantee on used items sold on ebay.
I am not giving out advice, I'm stating ebay rules. It is you are giving poor advice and failing to back up that advice with anything other than an assertion that "that's how it works".
If I did need advice on selling, I certainly wouldn't be asking you to tell me how you think the system works.0 -

No need, it's called buyer protection.
If you play cards it's a bit like the Top Trump.

I've just been through the "Buyer Protection" section on ebay and can tell you there is nothing in there that suggests the seller must accept a return on an item that was delivered working but has subsequently developed a fault. I can only assume that top trumps is played differently where you're from.0 -

That is actually quite good advice. Unfortunately for poor Dom (the OP) it comes on the back of following poor advice on page 1 of this thread. He need never have accepted the phone back in the first place.0 -

If the seller then received the item,and the item was tracked,all the buyer would have to do is upload the tracking details for their refund.
It wouldn't matter one bit if the item had no faults or if the seller was a private seller,they would be refunded in this situation.
Most people know that private sellers have different governing rules than business sellers,but if the item is sent back tracked to any seller when they say it is faulty (regardless if it is or isn't) they WILL get their refundLose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0
