Evening all, how is everyone this evening? Had a lovely day today, not really doing much, seeing my dear sister and her family and their new puppy, as little HW as possible, and then my gorgeous DS and his partner and GK's this afternoon. Spent the afternoon playing hookey with the kids until they went home at 5pm. Took some meat unlabelled from the freezer earlier today, I thought it was stewing steak, only to find two lovely fillet steaks, who forgets they have fillet steak in the house??? Anyway OH thought he was going to have egg and chips for tea only to be surprised with steak, chips, mushrooms, onions and pepper sauce, lovely. Then I have an evenings TV, Strictly, X Factor and now I'm a celeb..... Packups made for tomorrow, dinner already planned out and I am feeling chilled out. Hope everyone is doing well, hugs and high fives for anyone who feels they need or want one..Cait, at long last signing on:rotfl:0

Sorry just to breeze in, never post but always read and think of you all, very best wishes to all in need. Sitting down here and reading what everyone is upto transports me to lots of different places and I have a very clear picture in my head of what you are all like, just not always got that much that is noteworthy enough to say.
Beautiful crisp day here, early Mass then away rugby fixture for Doodle.DH had the task of getting forty odd Under 7's( who he coaches) to observe the two minutes silence. They all behaved beautifully.
Earlier, I had been priveledged to meet an old genteman outside Church, resplendent in his beret and medals and I was very proud to tell him how proud I was of him.
Went to a bridal open day this afternoon, not because I'm thinking of getting married again, that would be a terrible shock to DH as it's our Silver Wedding in April, but because riends of ours have turned their house into a wedding venue. It was amazing. Then home to a roast dinner and back down to earth with a bump, school uniform ironing beckons!
Hope everyone has a peaceful evening. Elaine, you mentioned that your curtains don't insulate against the cold, look out for cheap blankets in charity shops to interline the curtains with. Had a friend who did this for me when I got my first house and nothing as ever been quite so good since.
Love and kisses xx0 -

Hi all,
Been very lazy to-day...DGS2 stayed last night and he got OH up early....so I had breakfast in bed...not a fan really as I always feel that the whole lot is going to end up over duvet....managed ok, was nice to feel a bit pampered.
Rang DS1 and brother as they both have birthdays today....son says that at 41 he doesn't feel old as he is so much younger than me....cheeky brat!
Nice day here to-day, not as cold as of late. Made pancakes for DGS2 at lunchtime, then had a lovely roast of beef with roast potatoes, leeks, peppers, mushrooms, onions, carrots and parsnips around 3pm...DGS only had 'small' amount as he would have dinner later at home....he is shooting up in height and eating like a horse this last few months. There is enough meat and veg for a lazy dinner to-morrow and we will have some of the yeast buns (not sure what correct name is, got recipe on one of threads here) that I made, very pleased with them as they were mainly made in breadmaker.
Havent seen the cat again, although Mossy is still very curious, tries to get under car and into shed cat has been in, am leaving food out in shed every day and it disappears so hopefully cat will see fit to inspect his/her staff at some stage and let us have a good look as well.
Hugs to all in need of one or more, sleep well, stay safe.

Just watching a bit of telly and the house is pretty tidy because I didnt cook. Will definitely have to do some course work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who advised me on the chimney.I will look into that. Hope to get a better nights sleep tomorrow. Doctor did give me some tablets which worked but I just wasnt happy taking them.Doesnt seem right having something that zonks you out like that. Take care all.xxxx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0

Have been quite productive today (for me anyway!!) and have almost finished my clear out and have completed a scarf.
Also inspected my parsnips which appear to be mostly leaves .... I think the soil had too many stones in it. Plus being under a foot of water during the flood probably didn't help. Maybe raised beds next year!
Really want to do some cooking (still learning really!) but all the recipes I like the sound of are really unhealthy. Apart from celery soup!
Just reading about a book called Fireside Feasts and Snow Day Treats which sounds so cosy. Lots of cheesy recipes. Would love to try baked Camembert!
Back to work tomorrow. Not liking leaving the house and returning home in the dark every day!0 -
Evening everyone
Late again posting. Had a lovely day in London with my friends, did the shops and treated myself to a new blue blazer bargain reduced to £15. Mananged to spend £11 In Primani on a top and scarf and that was it. Dh gave me some money to spend for my birthday although its another month away. Really want to find some comfy ankle boots/shoes that arent too high and look good, possibly red but may stick to black ones.
os today wm on and hung on airer. hw ds school shirts with vanish and they came up lovely and clean. cleaned kitchen and tidied ds2 floor of clothes. All uniform now ironed and bags ready for tomorrow.
Observed the silence this morning, couldnt go to rememberance parade as ds2 was not well.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.0 -

Soooo easy. Buy Camembert - if you'll eat a whole, buy one in the nice wooden box. Unwrap. Slash top and put sliced garlic in holes, and rosemary if you fancy. Drizzle with olive oil and lots of black pepper. Wrap in tin foil and put back in box (or just on baking tray). 20min at 180. Lots of bread/veg etc to dip.MMMMMmmmmmmm:DGC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500
