They came from Sainsbury's, though I can't find them on the website. One's called Christmas Spice and the other is Snowflake :rotfl: Snowflakes apparently don't have a specific scent, they just smell very very fresh :D

Quick call as I'm just off to Open Arms.

Lovely remembrance services. Lovedth Festival of Remembrance. I never get through the 2 minutes silence with the falling poppies with dry eyes. In church we included those in the Home Front in our Remembrance as they are usually overlooked. Those of us who lived through the war (I was a small baby at the beginning) do remember how tough life was and how brave the women and old men were - with no medals for their bravery.

OK. Rushing off now but hope to be back to normal, or what loosely passes for normal, next week.

    Afternoon everyone

"Lest we forget the fallen and the injured"

We always have to smile when we see Remebrance Parades, we went for a ride into Ripon on our honeymoon the day after the wedding, we had removed the tins and things from behind the car, but had not realised my Dad had given them 4 pennies to put inside the hub caps. We had to stop at some traffic lights, and when we moved off it was onto cobbles, and the parade was marching at the side of us, they saw the writing in lipstick on the back window, heard the rattle and gave us a wave and a cheer, we did not stop:o

    LW Lovely words
Elaine. Thermal linings for your curtains certainly help, and Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation are also worthwhile, as someone said there are grants if your house isn't up to insulation standards. Look on main MSE pages.
HH Love your Avitar, thought Les Dawson was brilliant. Hope the party goes well.
Elona is DD1 home and did they get to the bottom of what was wrong?
Islandmaid Check out some independent opticians, often cheaper than the 2 for 1 route, you don't need 2 pair. They may even help with that measurement, have you tried googling it. The measurements they take are the length of the arms (ears and front of face) and the distance between the eyes for the nose width.

Had a lovely meal out last night 19 of us in all. Not done a lot today, did a load of washing overnight, it got almost dry but they tried to drizzle so brought it in. Grey day today, the drizzle didn't turn into anything. It's on an aired hidden stood in the upstairs bath (DH doesn't like to see washing drying).
Watched Strictly recorded from last night, then the Cenotaph parade, and now Tennis. Had a sandwich with LO chicken from yesterday lunch, put the carcass, etc., in the SC for Skye overnight, so need to finish deboning that. Tea tonight will be simple, either salad or Egg on Toast.
Heating out here is a portable Calor Gas heater, and we have put it on for an hour or so.
Have the Festival of Remembrance taped for watching later, after the Strictly results, etc.

Take care all, ((((hugs)))) all round. DG

I got them from I*ea online and paid the postage. You have a choice of black or white if you go online but if you go instore they have lots of different colours. I think they are called Sunnar or something similar and are about £16 each.

We still don't know what caused all the blood clots but she is still having daily injections and is easily tired etc so trying to coddle her a bit.

After a big lunch don't feel like cooking so making toasties or baked potatoes for tonight.

  • Bedrooms are clean and beds are made.

Dinner is in the oven and ironing is done.

All sounds good ... except I decided to cut my own hair. I cut a bit off, then got braver and cut a lot more and it looks ok when it is loose, in fact I was rather proud of myself but I seem to have developed a fringe which won't be tamed into my pony tail

Cut OH's hair too, as I always do. His looks the same as normal .... bald :rotfl:

    Evening all,

Just back from Yorkshire. Took mum and dad to the Cenotaph had a weep as I do every year
Lunch was delish and mum insisted I bring the leftover leg of lamb home as they won't eat it. So it will be turned into lamb curry on Tuesday.
I saw Skyfall on Saturday and loved it but don't fancy Daniel Craig at all much prefer my men tall dark and handsome but a great film and he is a great bond
Just some fruit and yoghurt tonight. I'm still full from lunch. FB dh and I often play rude scrabble lol
    Have a good evening x
