this makes me so angry. as an honest ebay seller i am sick and tired of people taking the %%^^. if you dont know how the bidding works on ebay then DONT BID!! dont waste everyones time! if the seller has stated no refunds then its for good reason as they have obviously been messed about before. accept you cocked up graciously and just relist the item.and try and remember what you are doing next time:eek:

Whilst I agree OP was in the wrong to bid sometimes these things happen and to be honest I think the seller is on a hiding to nothing trying to make someone pay for an item they don't want.
At the end of the day the buyer is more likely to raise a dispute, say the item doesn't work, hasn't arrived etc then probably leave a neg to boot. Surely better to accept the apology, get the buyer to agree to a mutual and relist?0 -
Surely if a cancellation is agreed, the buyer will get his value fee credited back to him anyway?
I've paid for it, but if he is still unhelpful I may have to play a bit dirtier. Buyers have rights as well as sellers as he probably knows.
Thanks for the replies.
As a seller, I would do as Pulliptears says (cancel the sale & hope they agree to a mutual).
However, looks like the OP has now paid for the item?0 -

From a sellers POV it seems a lot of rigmarole for the sake of a mutual.
Yes OP shouldn't have bid but whats done is done. When this has happened to me in the past I've found it easier to just go for a mutual and have always received positive feedback to the effect of 'understanding seller'.
OP's seller, whilst right in principal isn't endearing himself to his customer and I don't see what he gains from it. Yes, the sale is completed but as I said before its got a good chance of coming back to bite him with poor feedback to boot0 -
If I was the seller I would have agreed to a mutual cancellation just to avoid the buyer opening a SNAD case and getting their money back anyway. A buyer like this is too much trouble (soory op...lol).
If they insist you buy, then either buy and gice away as a gift, sell on, or SNAD the item and return it. No such things as "no returns".0 -
All sorted now
Agreed to a cancellation.
