Bought item mistakenly

I bidded on something mistakenly, well, only after I won it I found out. Listing said no returns, haven't paid yet (won yesterday), buyer says no returns etc what can I do?
Shall I pay then request a refund via talking to eBay themselves, or?

how did you manage to mistakenly make a bid,do you not have to key in your bid and press ok or enter?0

Contact seller, apologise profusely and ask for a mutual cancellation. You should do this ASAP in case the seller wants to offer the item to the next highest bidder: if they do, the sooner the better.0

It was correctly bidded on, as a present someone wanted one, now apparently wires were crossed and it wasn't the exact thing he wanted!!
I did, and he said "sorry all sales are finals no refunds", so dont know whether to pay and then pursue a refund or not pay at all.0 -

Your choices are:
1. Pay for it and use it or sell it yourself or give away as a present
2. Just ignore the requests for payment and end up with a NPB strike."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

3 - pay for it, pretend there is an issue with it, send it back and get a refund thus only losing the cost of the postage. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I think the seller's attitude is rather rude, given you clearly don't want it.
If you don't want to risk a NPB strike, then just pay for it, and sell it on.
I'd be tempted to leave a 1* for communication given they're being very inflexible.
Or perhaps try again asking for a refund.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Offer to pay the seller's fees - they've dealt with you in good faith and it's not their fault you got it wrong.0

Karma does exist."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Really ???
So although the OP admits they bought by mistake, the seller loses their FVF, Paypal fees and postage costs.
Admittedly, the seller is being inflexible, but why should they have to pay for the buyer's mistake ?You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
