Just to keep everyone up to date - we are at the 'Final Notice' stage. The previous letter was a bit of a joke as it said that as we had not paid within the 14 day limit for the reduced rate, it was no longer acceptable (or words of that effect) and that the amount of £55 was now payable (which in fact was the reduced rate amount!) Idiots! I'll try uploading these picture if I can access my photobucket account! Check back soon....0

Entrance to car park.
Where you parked.
One more photo.
Spot the sign!
:rotfl:
Not sure if Martin Cutts still wants examples of lack of signs - but I think he'd also want to see what the hidden sign actually says as well:

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

See what a joke G24 are ? My invoices went up to something like £140 ( it was a few beers ago so I can't remember exactly ! ) and then came down again and then went up a again - they couldn't really make up their mind ! So much for only trying to get their loses back - it can't be all of them :rotfl:
By the way, what's your understanding of the word "FINAL" ? I'm guessing like all of us it's "last" ? Well you need to look forward to another final ! I do sometimes think G24 is run by a group of illiterate South American pygmies with a pack of felt tips and a troop of sloths doing their administration. All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
Hi. I've been going through this over the last few months too - parked outside our local Toys R Us for "too long". So far I have ignored various letters from G24 and more recently CCS Collect - before Christmas they were going to contact me for a home visit which never happened and now two days ago they are offering a last chance to drop my £145 bill to £72.50. If I don't pay this they will "recommend litigation".
Does anyone know if I will have to endure much more of this (my husband finds it funny but it's still a bit disconcerting for me)? How many more letters can I expect to recive before they leave me alone? Thanks0 -

That should be it. The offer of a discount is usually one last desperate act before they give up.0 -
I've had the G24 letter for overstaying in a Toys R Us car park. After reading this thread, I'm planning to ignore it. But...
I know it is a big IF, but surely they could take you to the small claims court at little cost to themselves. I'm concerned that they could do this and win given that there are signs in place at the car park.
I've read that they would only be able to go for the amount of money they've lost out on (eg. the cost of an extra hour in a pay and display car park), but how would that work if the parking is free for the initial period?
Also, what sort of legal costs would be incurred to defend it?
I know the court action is a very big IF, but it sounds like it is still a small risk.0
