Does this number work for both contract phones as well as PAYG?

I have a contract and it works on that... I presume it works with PAYG too as it's just a general short code that you forward the texts on to.

there should be some law to stop these marketing/junk texts

luckily i only get them from vodafone and its usually advising of free offers so i dont mind them ;)

but i would be gutted if some porno people got hold of my number and kept sending me texts
why should people have to change their numbers?

Mike, have a look at this thread here regarding spam texts. I used the website mentioned as I had no joy from Orange regarding spam texts I was receiving despite them being the only company I had texted for their Orange Wednesday cinema tickets

Also do sign up your mobile number to the TPS along with your landline number, it takes up to 28 days but it does make a difference eventually and the tele sales calls dry up.

    I have a PAYG on O2.

I'm pretty sure O2 sell their info on.. although that's just a hunch. I got an O2 contract phone to use along side my Orange number to cut down on costs. As it was just for the extra texts and extra minutes i never registered it anywhere and within a week and only sending a few personal texts from i was receiving spam texts... .
