I think you need to re-read. Just because my answers were not the ones you wanted to hear doesn't mean you need to play the victim card.
Actually might I suggest your need to re read the thread as i even said that I should maybe put it down to experience early on. I'm not pulling any victim card I have no problem in living with my choices I just don't need you to be a smart !!!! with comments.

I can see that I'm not the only person that feels the manner in which you come across is let's say less than friendly. There is no victim card being played here and certainly have no problem with any valid points or information about the legal side of things. I just asked a simple question didn't expect miracles and certainly wasn't palming anything off as completely the banks fault, I asked for and got a loan. But at the same time didn't expect to have justify with your oh so wise self on why I wanted the loan originally. I've never said I didn't want the money I just wanted to know if anything underhand had gone on with selling me two loans....your advice may be free...but not all things free are worth taking.0 -

I don't know how you can ask if anything underhand went on.
You requested to borrow money, they gave you it. You paid it back.
To start asking questions 10 years later is a bit strange.
As for others, any posts I make are my opinion/advice. It can be good or bad depending on what the poster wants to hear.
The words mis-sold are very common on here. Other common words are responsible lending which are closely related to irresponsible borrowing.
My advice in future would be to read what you sign beforehand and if you are not happy, don't sign. If you think something is underhand, investigate at the time and do not ask questions 10 years later once the horse has bolted.0 -
The posters on this forum are not here to be nice or to tell what you want to hear. They tell it as they see it, and if you don't like it(as many newbies don't), then that is your problem not that of the rest of us. What you are getting , is opinions, and you don't have to like them either.
For what its worth, your post comes over to me as a bit of a long distance fishing expedition. Feel free not to like my reply and to lump it in with the other opinions that you did not like..I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
By the way, there was no incentive at that time that paid Halifax staff more if they sold two loans instead of one.
There was also no incentive that paid them more if they sold higher rate products.0 -

At last something that actually has something to do with my original question. This is something i wondered also, cheers for that, at least i know that when i was sold the loan the person dealing with me wasn't just trying to better their performance figures.0 -

How is that strange, or is this yet again an irrelevant opinion that is aimed at the my previous actions, and adds no real use or value to the original question?

Thats fair enough, but if people are repeatedly telling you the way you come across isn't all that pleasant maybe you should look at how you come across in your replies not just assume everyone is being dismissive of your actual valid points, they get lost in your sarcasm and what can feel like condescending comments.

Not everyone has or knows the correct wording for their situation, its fine that you do, but the phrase 'newbie' means just that, they are new are may not be as familiar with the terminology as yourself. As for you relating 'irresponsible borrowing' who are you to judge what is irresponsible. And if that also implies i was i'd like you to expain how, when the loan was repaid in full? If i had of not paid it i would except your point, but i dont think you have one here do you?

My advice in future to you would be to not form such a high opinion of yourself, get from behind your keyboard, maybe make some friends that get out a little and learn some basic social skills in which you may learn to interact in a nicer way with people without them taking offense at the way you find it necessary to not only deliver your knowledge and facts but add your own little sarcastic remarks that make your points null and void. Oh and as for the horse that bolted, maybe others on here would appreciate the advice and could learn from my mistakes? The only horse i see is the gigantic one your sat on, so how about you jump down off your high horse and maybe you can see things from us poor 'newbies' point of view?0 -

Maybe you should read the full thread as at no point have i dismissed opinions, ive just dismissed snotty little remarks much like yours. As you've already made the pre-judgement i wont like your reply and to 'lump it in with others' i will make a special place for yours, though im not sure where they were in the thread i have dismissed any valid points previously?0 -

If there was anything of interest then I apologise for not reading it. I didn't have the strength to make it to the end of the post.0 -
