Help please - dvd to andriod for sumsung galaxy 2 tab

I have no knowledge at all , dont even use a mobile phone and I have spent the last 10 days reading tons of info on the internet to assist me in converting DVD to android to put on my Galaxy tab. However, every time I try to download a free converter - I get a warning that the digital signature is wrong or downloading may put my pc at risk. Is there anywhere I can go for a complete idiots guide and sound , SAFE advice. This was bought on 31.10 so my husband could watch films on the plane and he has less knowledge than me!!! At least I managed to turn it on! Yes, we are that far in the dark ages in our home.:o

As I understand it, it is currently unlawful to copy (or convert) the contents of a DVD to a tablet device (or phone, or laptop, etc.)

Vince Cable has announced plans to change the law:
Changing copyright laws won't solve everything (19 June 2012, The Guardian)
  • And I thought my day couldnt get any worse - I was advised by John Lewis and told them exactly what I wanted it for- so you are saying I have wasted 299.99 then - thanks

If the people at John Lewis said that you would be able to lawfully copy/convert DVDs to play on a tablet, then they were wrong. If a tablet is not otherwise useful to you then I suggest you try for a refund.

A portable DVD player may be more suitable. You could search amazon.co.uk for "Portable DVD Players". There are some with 10 inch screens for around £100.

Note: I have not used a portable DVD player and the above suggestions are not recommendations.
