What Scholfield did was absolutely stupid.
Hope he gets the sack.0 -
Why what did he do qetu1357?
From what I saw he asked the prime Minister for an assurance that he would look into child abuse claims thats all. and yes he gave him a list of names, names that the PM probably knew before hand
How was that wrong?Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

It was a cheap stunt. Getting a list of names off the Internet and then displaying them to the camera "by mistake" was out of order.
Interestingly if you type in Philip Schofield on google one of the google auto options is "Philip Schofield gay" as he appears to be advocating the Internet is a haven for the truth that must be true....This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It wasn't a cheap stunt at all, he saw the oppertunity to highlight a issue to the PM, in his enthusiasm to deliver an important message (list of potential suspects) in public, it was caught on camera.... so what?
These names on the list are all over the internet are they not?
As for him being gay or not, well that has no relevance, and it his business, why is it interesting?Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

Because he's not gay. It's an example of how the Internet has helped spread a rumour that isn't true.
As has been proved yesterday lord mcalpine is innocent of this but his name was on that list.
You seem to have this very naive view that if its on the Internet it must be trueThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You don't have to look any further than the Lord McAlpine debacle to understand why this was just a silly stunt by Schofield - someone who really should know better!0

Well I dont know and neither does anyone else yet, who is guilty or not, all Phillip Schofield did, was to bring the dirty washing out, nothing more nothing less.
As for people being named well that unfortunate, people do get accused and they are completely innocent, its a statistic.
A mistake may (or may not) have been made in highlighting an abuser, however the man who was abused as a child was indeed abused (allegedly) ......its now a case of "who" abused him?Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

So if your name was wrongly on a list that was inadvertently shown on tv would it not worry you,it would me as even though i know i would be innocent mud sticks.Schofield is becoming bigger than his boots .0

What dirty washing?
All he had was a list of names obtained from various websites with no proof that any of the people had committed any crimes whatsoever.
What Phillip Schofield did was to attempt a publicity stunt without considering the possible implications to himself, to ITV and to the people named on the list, which is something that you might expect from a newbie just starting out as a TV presenter, but not from someone who has been in the business as long as he has.
If he was really that interested in ensuring that the names on the list were investigated, why didn't he just send the list to the police or give it to the PM off camera?0
