Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning all:wave:

Morning to everyone.I was up early and thought I would check the daily but couldnt find it, so started the thread.I feel a bit cheeky doing that as I am not really a regular. Couldnt sleep so was up at 5:eek:!! Have wiped around and washed last nights dinner plates. I have loads of coursework to do so will potter about in between assignments. Will have to amuse the children as well, so a day of juggling for me. Hope everyone has a good day xxx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Topsy - enjoy London
Monnagran - sorry to hear about DS but sounds like he has done the right thing
Thanks again for the comments yday :A feeling much better bout it today. I enjoyed my yummy food, had 2 glasses of wine and a nice bath last night.
Today is going to be a busy one. I need to clean and tidy the house, then go to the big town to do some shopping and meet girls for lunch, then call in on my nan, then there is a vintage fair in my town that I want to go to, then the girls from work are coming over mine at half 5 for girls night. We are going to go shops to get some bits to eat rather than a takeaway, watch Strictly, paint our nails, make cocktails etc, should be fun
OS wise - need to tidy bedroom and lounge, clean bathroom and kitchen, hoover throughout, put laundry away, put up the 2 spare beds.
Have a good day all

Morning all
It's been a busy week, hubby is back on a 3 shift system & so I've been up & cooking breakfast for him at 5:30.
I have the family over tomorrow, 14 people, possibly more, so today I'm cooking a couple of joints, beef & ham and chocolate brownies. I nalso need to tidy up a bit.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Another early riser here. Went to put the lights on this morning and the bulb blew. I now have no lights working grrrrrr - guess it is a trip to the fusebox? Any advice welcome as I am not good on the domestic front.
Put my oil burner on with grapefruit oil in it to clear my mind..... and the glass keeps "jumping" in the frame. Never seen that before!
Already starting on the decluttering as behind on my targets and want to complete the office today. Will mix that up with some studying for my OU course.
Coffee pot loaded - help yourselves
Have a great day0 -
Morning All
Woke up at 7.30am so got up ans have been browsing since:o
Thanks for the coffee Fizzbitz. Yes a bulb going often blows the fuse. Depends on your fuse box type some have a button in the middle which comes out when blown, and you have to press it back in, other types have a switch up and down type, look for the odd man out and make it match IYKWIM
Been starting posting but never get finished always seem to get distracted. DH & Skye still snoring and almost 9 here now:eek:
I have been organising a community meal out here for tonight to go with our 39th WA today. Negotiated. 3€ reduction per person :A:D for a group of 19 so 3 course with half a bottle of wine for 18€ :rotfl::rotfl: OS dies hard. Also been using up food from the freezer, and given to us as folk go home, we always do this, better than wasting. I did some Spaghetti last night to go with some Tomatoey Mince, we don't do hot and spicy here, did some extra Spaghetti and just added some to Skye's breakfast, as she loves pasta.
jackie-0 glad Shelly is doing OK I had mine done 20 years ago, best thing I ever did. Hadn't realised how rough I had felt 3 out of 4 weeks of each cycle.
monogram hope DS is OK
FB sorry to hear your op was cancelled, hope they sort you out quickly.

Take care all. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning all,
This is an early post for me. Can't sleep though
FB just caaught up with last nights thread. Try not to worry too much. My daughter was born with a slight heart murmur. They said she would probably never have any issues. She's 26 now and it's never caused her any problems. I remember the consultant saying there are lots and lots of people with slight murmurs that are never affected and never know about them.
Monogran glad your DS has made a positive move, the food sounds delish
Topsy let your hair down today you deserve it
So yesterday managed to pick up a nice shrug for my hols from the charity shop for £2.50 and then popped in Mr A for a paper but ended up in the clothes section. I have been needing some new jeans for ages but have been hanging on with the weight loss. It's a struggle for me being short as well. Anyway got a gorgeous dark blue pair in size 14 that are not stretchy yay:j I almost danced down the road home, felt like a 5 ft 2 super model:rotfl:
Today will be the usual clean through, need to pick up one Christmas pressie and some wedding shoes for ds3 then it's off to the cinema to watch Skyfall. Going to take some low fat munchies so I don't fall off the wagon
Something quick and easy. For tea and will pack up the kindle and cards for my ds2 as its his birthday soon and mum is taking the present with her as she will be with him on the day. Also going to take my youngest db his pressies tomorrow as I won't see him again until we come back in January 2013.
Weather looks cold and dark so washing will be dried indoors.
Have a lovely Saturday J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning everyone,
Monnagran hope all is ok for DS.
FB, Topsy, RR and Mrs MH Hugs
JackieO Glad Shelley is doing well.
Sorry if I have missed anyone.
Up early to get DS up for work. OH has gone cycling as his knee is finally getting better.
60s day at school yesterday was great. Loads of the pupils dressed up and i lost count of the times I was asked if I was really alive in the 60s, didn't let on that I was 5 when they finished!
Tea tonight is pork chops.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good Morning chums bit damp and grey looking outside.text from DD to say she is feeling a bit better this morning and just waiting for the consultant to arrive Shes had breakfast and although was up every two hours during the night for the loo(catheter is out)she went back to sleep afterwards which is good as she's not ever been a very good sleeper since she was a little girl, and like me once awake would get up.(I still do:)) Hoping to go up there mid morning for a couple of hours ,perhaps do her hair or nails for her.
I can't wait for her to come home and then I can fuss over her and probably drive her loopy:) but I'm allowed as I'm her Mum so its Mum's perks
:)
Baking is due this afternoon as the boys are in need of some of Grandma's cakes bless them.
Hope you all have a good and productive day
Take care all

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull, overcast, steadily raining which looks like it started sometime in the night as everywhere is completely soaked, and it looks set in for the day, deep joy! DH not up and off to work stupid early - he has weekend off!! (We have quite a few jobs to do at home though!) He has now surfaced and is decluttering a cuppa.
Everyone now awake and mostly up and ready to tackle the day, we're going to an Open Day at the local college with DS1 this morning, this is where he wants to go after he finishes school next summer.
Dinner last night was a change to the plan as the chicken didn't defrost in time, so I did a breaded chicken pieces (for the menfolk), fish for myself, jacket potatoes, beans/veg and coleslaw/pasta salad - all went down well and plates were empty. Desserts from the tins for those that had room (namely the menfolk!)
Was reasonably productive yesterday, got to the bank, did the food shopping, came home and continued plowing through the housework, washing, ironing, changed the beds and managed to get some baking done too, so made mince pies, and cupcakes - didn't make anything else as we still have some twinks left - they will just get thrown away if I make too much.
Didn't need to buy a roasting joint for tomorrow as we've booked a table at our fav restaurant for Sunday lunch and are taking DH's Aunt as she helped us out with childcare the other weekend when we went to London, she has helped us before and is always really good to us and the boys - (better than the outlaws to be honest!) - there's also a bit of a "situation" with DH's mum (tbh there's always something underlying with MIL she's just not a very nice person sometimes) - bit complicated but problem all with MIL; attitude, money, and the way she treats people - I try to keep out of it and keep my family out of it but not easy - families - you know what they say - you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your families!
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x
