Well after sweating my bum off all day I spent £2.25 from my unneccesary spends. I got 2 types of icecreams and a mars bar! I actually class the mars bar as medicinal because my blood sugar was so low I was shaking and my eyes were swimming so I had to ram it down my neck before I could drive the kids back from the shop!

I think there is hope on the horizon re: sat nav! Eager learner has just emailed me all the cash for clicks sites and has given me a list of the order to do them in each day so I will use this as my challenge for the next few months in order to be able to pay for the sat nav. I already have £105 on rpoints that I can pull back sp I should be able to get the sat nav for free/minimal outlay (well it involves me paying it back into the savings account).
Once I have enough points saved for the sat nav I will concentrate on putting the rest of the money towards paying off the savings account and will then start saving the money up for other yummy things like holidays?

it's taken me a whole day to catch up .. just shows you really shouldn't stay away from this thread for too long .... but it's good in a way because it really did allow me to see just how supportive this thread is. a few personal problems have arisen over the past through days and everyone here has been on hand, no questions asked, no judgements passed. YOU'RE ALL A GREAT BUNCH. :T

didn't have such a great no spend week last week (think this just might be the reason why i've been avoiding ahem i mean too busy to come chat. went to brighton to visit a friend over the weekend, spent far too much money and drank far too much but had a great time (i can say that now the hangover has worn off!!)

i too made notes but left them at work but here's what i remember ...

slowly fading ... WELL DONE on completing your essay and getting a first on another one. i won't offer any words of advice because it seems you've already received loads ... and stay away from red bull .. it's gave me IBS from my studying days!!

Shirleypark ... so sorry to hear about your rat xx

Jet ... well done to your DDs!! you and pippo must be so proud.:T :T

pippo & peachpickle ... i CAN'T believe you don't get hangovers!! they are the bane of my life. I'm forever giving up drink for periods of time. I actually think i have an intolerance so should give it up permanently but i just love unwinding with a glass of wine ...

NSDs yesterday and today .. determined to keep that crisp tenner in my purse.:A

Oh B****er, bother, still something not bck in place with this 'puter thing - lost the connection again.
Jet tell dd very well done - was going to say give hera hug from me, but haven't quite worked out how to do that without causing stranger danger concern.

As we are back on line now I have to do a couple of work things for Dh & water the seedlings ('cos plants would be an unnecessary spend!!) Will be back soon - I hope!
  • Hi all

I took my library books back 2day and got a £7 late fee charge - i felt terrible handing over my crisp £10 which i had managed to hang on to for a day and a half :( Other than that i had a no spend day.

I worked late tonight and was feeling sooo hungry - i remembered i had a cuppa soup in my bag so made that and resisted the urge to buy some junk food on the way home YAY

How is everyone finding this challenge ? I am finding it very hard but easier than keeping a spending diary because it makes me really think before handing my £10 over.

CAFC well done for paying in your £50 without spending any of it.

Ruthie Jane well done on ur no spend day - i am finding it so hard.

Jet77 Congrats on your dd dancing competion

shirley - glad ur bf is attempting to loose weight to, theres nothing worse than being on a diet and your oh ordering a huge pizza or sitting there eating a big box of chocs lol - well done on sticking to the diet !

Red sheep - how u doing with ur unnecessary spending

Turnaround sue - hope you are feeling better

Nik – well done on ur no spend day

Ciara – lovely jewellery – good luck with ur stall

Brassc – glad u had a good weekend – well done on ur 2 no spend days.

    Nite all x
