Aww hugs pepys...PP wy dont you have a look on the BBC website and see what they have in the way of recipes, or the C4 come dine with me site will have something to inspire! I would def go for candles (car boot or Ikea?) as adds the romantic ambience! Also how about chicken & veg - cheap & you can jazz it up with a few herbs! I've got loads of recipe books if you want me to hunt!
Hope you feel better today CAFC, ruthie & pippo? Hope things are better today pb...nettting is important if you want to eat the fruit!; which reminds me I must net the blueberries!!
Hope you all have a good day!

Thanks fishface, I loved Come Dine With Me so I had a look round there :)

I've got my starter and dessert sorted, just not sure of the main. I don't cook chicken or joints enough to be confident about when it's cooked properly, so I think I'll go with steak and fancy veg. Cop out maybe...

Just been to Tesco and spent £50 :(:( There were toiletries and stuff too, but still hurts.

Peach our co-op has a rotisery (sp) so if one close to you did you could get an already roasted chicken or hock add some veg, roast potatoes. failing that a steak seems to win with guys everytime. and im sure no matter what you cooked he'll appreciate the effort!

Thanks fishface, I am glad you agree about netting. Last year birds got nearly everything so I am trying to keep some fruit for us. Peachpickle, I use BBC recipes all the time and I was HE teacher! If you do a steak just put steak into ingredients list and it gives lots of recipes so you can find out how you want to cook it. Ciara, we were just saying we wished our co-op had a rotiserie, living in back of beyond has some disavantages. DS2 works there part time so he is gooing to suggest it but don't know where they would put it.Shortie I hope Monday is a huge amount better than Friday was.Jet and Pippo and ruthie hope things are better next week.CAFCgirl, hope everything is okay. I haven't read back posts,so don't know where you are.

  • Hi everyone,

Long time no post (well 2 days I think!)

Hugs to everyone that's feeling crappy, fingers crossed you'll feel better soon.

I went off the rails a little this weekend, spent £4 on buger and chips and drink on Thursday night after work, £5 on a pair of flip flops to replace the ones I busted when I went away last weekend, and a tenner on food this weekend. Ooops. And I realised I've got my bloody MOT this week, bye bye £35 ish....let's hope my baby gets through!

But I did an extra shift at work today for double pay, so even though I'm knackered at least I should get some money through, and my ebay things start to finish tomorrow, so kerr ching!

    Have a lovely week everyone!

Looks like we've all had a bit of an off week money-wise! Well it's bound to happen occasionally, so we can't let it get us down. We have to remember that we've all been working really hard at this for the last month or so (possibly even longer!) and we can be forgiven the odd lapse. All we have to do is start again on monday - which handily is tomorrow ;) That's probably quite hypocritical of me, as I'm going to have a very spendy week again, but I hope to settle down with that next month. And I did pay off a huge chunk of debt this month so I'll forgive myself. Ish

    Everyone else, forgive yourself too!

    Go team!

Off week isn't even the word.

I was really chuffed coz I found a garage doing MOTs for 19.99 special offer - and then my car failed and I had to spend 195 to get it fixed!!! :-(

I've then just had my ex-friend at the door (Pippo knows which 1 I'm on about) giving me a mouthful!! - which I've done nothing to deserve as I haven't retaliated to anything that she's said so she obviously wants me to but I don't see why I should give her the satisfaction. I could scream!! Thank God the kids were asleep - but she didn't know that - they could have been listening upstairs.

    Nightmare!!

    Allo!

I'm not even going to talk about last week, for this is a totally new one!

Have to give myself (and so do you guys too!) a break every so often from the hell!
Plus only another 19 days till payday.....

Am going to really try and stick to my guns this week regarding money...I've even hidden a £5 note which I'm hoping I'll just forget about! And then one day I'll find it and spend it all on chocolate!

Mucho hugs and love to everyone, thanks for all the kind thoughts and words, I was loitering, but having a weak week (god bad joke!)... love you xx
