OK, new to this so need a few bits explained please.

I have loaded Netflix onto my Wii and that's connected to my main TV. I haven't tried the "One month free" yet because of what I've read on here.

AIUI, there are, for a monthly charge, ways to obtain a (VPN?) USA IP address and it's quite easy to change the Wii's IP address to that - and then it would apparently be possible to log into Netflix's free trial as if you were in the USA.

It's after that I need some help with. AIUI, although the VPN IP address provider is not worried about what credit card is use to pay them, Netflix USA requires payment using a credit card registered to a USA address and ZIP code. Like every other UK citizen, I have UK cards (albeit some have USA ownwers) and don't have a USA address/ZIP code. How is that aspect overcome?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I use netflix and unblock.us as mentioned above - I find plenty of content to watch by switching between the USA and Canadian netflix.

Your mistake is trying to register for US netflix - just register for the UK one and then use a VPN service to change IP.
  • Netflix is terrible. I done a search for different TV shows, and it would usually not have it. Same with movies. Very little choice.

Lovefilm wasn't perfect but it did have a hell of a lot more of the results than any of the others. I guess it's just down to whether you want a good selection to pick from or not

I haven't tried blinkbox but heard it's really good.

Do you need it through the Wii? Could you not just hook up your computer to the TV remotely?
