Item removed from sale by ebay, what next?

Hello everyone,
I am after some advice please.
I put up a WW2 cap badge for sale on ebay this morning.Being new to selling,I was not aware of what would constitute"offensive". My item was classified as Nazi memorabilia as it contained the symbol that is banned by ebay.
Before it was removed,I received a large amount of offers from ebayers wishing to buy the item privately as they knew it would be removed.
I really have no idea how much this item is worth,I found it in a box of odds at auction years ago.
I would like to get the best price as I run a cat rescue & have to fund it myself, money is very tight at the moment.
Should I email the interested parties and ask for their best offer or leave it till I find a better format?
Any advice welcome.

It is against eBay rules to contact buyers about a potential sale, but if they have sent you their email addresses eBay couldn't stop you.

There is a big market in WW2 memorabilia and a bricks and mortar auction might also be a good idea.

Although I also run a cat rescue and so know what its like trying to fund it, it would go totally against my principles to sell anything Nazi, in case the buyer turned out to be a Nazi supporter, which would just be too totally, utterly, sickening for words.

    Contact Prince Harry.

He is into that sort of thing.

Thanks moggy,I really do get what you are saying. However,I don't think all collectors of this stuff are bad. Also,I'm from Romany/Jewish stock so I consider any profit to be had from this item is to be welcomed, particularly as Adolf Hitler really hated cats.

Course they are not all bad. Just find another place to sell your items. Good Luck.

Thats why i don't sell knives, hammers , screw drivers, cars, kettles, baseball bats, baloclava's....... just in case they are used by someone dangerous.

Quite right techspec- and better not sell any books with violent bits in like the Bible in case they incite someone to commit the same acts.

Seriously though, I know Nazi images are frowned upon if not completely banned (and Gumtree will pull the item as well if it shows a Swastika) but pretending something didn't happen doesn't make it go away. The Nazis burnt or destroyed books art and other things that did not agree with the ideal of the perfect race, why would we want to emulate them by doing the same?

History should teach us things, we learn from our mistakes. By burying anything that is unpleasant we may well make those same mistakes again in the future.

Exactly - they are items of historical value - just like other events throughout history - inluding other wars/atrocities/battles.

Banning the selling of these items will not change the past. They may even help people tell others what happened and prevent it happening again.

I believe there are alot of things much worse than WW2 relics being sold, what about the African war clubs or other items from earlier wars that now fetch a great deal of money and have a truly bloodthirty past?
