  • Hello all.

Happy birthday to all the birthdayers today x

I've tidied my ds1 room today. It was a pigsty. No offence to pigs! I took out an entire load of washing. I had wondered where all his socks were as well....

Made a veggie curry for tea.

I am menu planned up until nearly the end of November.

Expensive time of year, with Christmas and my daughters birthday. She's going to be a teenager next weekend.

New kitten has taken to sleeping in the airing cupboard!

Jackie, I hope your daughter is recovering well x

    Have a lovely evening all

flutterby I hope all goes well at the hospital and that the op goes well next week x
Thanks BB but sadly not all went to plan today. They discovered that I have a heart murmur :S so they need to investigate that first before they will operate. So I'm on waiting list to have some tests done (although they don't think it's serious) and my op has been postponed now, won't be until 2013 :( but c'est la vie!

I went to work once I'd sorted stuff out and rearranged everything I had rearranged previously so I now have next week off work as leave :j. And before work I went to my parents for lunch and they have come into a bit of money and are kindly giving me some, which equates to what I owe them for the car loan they gave me :beer: .
So a bit of an emotional day :rotfl: I've been to shops and bought some yummy food and wine to have tonight, sod the money and OS today!

Hi chums been at the hospital for most of the day and they have taken the drains out which is good and managed to get her into a chair.I creamed her feet for her (:))as the lovely nurse let her have half an hour without the dreaded white stockings on (they're awful aren't they) plus she had a gadget on both legs that kept her awake all night as it kept pumping her legs (supposed to stop DVT I think) she still has an oxygen thing up her nose as she hates the mask and her breathing has got to improve a bit more until she can leave it off,but she's eating and her spirits are rising by the hour and she looked a better colour when I came home I shall see what she's like tomorrow morning. She said apart from feeling like she's been run over slowly she is ok and is already fretting to get home.her sister is visiting after work tonight so she will have someone new to chat to.I am going to put my feet up and have a large G&T to celebrate I am so pleased that she's improving all the time .
Blooming chilly one tonight I put the heating on for an hour when I got home to warm the house up a bit and I'm now feeling quite toasty and warm.Think I'll dig some fish from the freezer out for a quick dinner tonight and then its feet up and relax.
have a good evening everyone and thanks for all your good and kind thoughts for my 44 year old baby. She was christened Michelle, but my nephew Steven then aged 2 couldn't get his tongue round it and called her Shelley instead and its stuck with her.It sounded really odd to hear the nurses calling her Michelle today I'd almost forgotten her proper name .But then my youngest was christened Theresa, and has been called Tessa all of her life.Don't know why we bother with christening sometimes I think :):)
Tomorrow night I shall watch the Festival of Remebrance at the Albert Hall on t.v. as my nephew Hugh is one of the vicars who is the Bishop of Manchester's right hand man He usually carries the shepards crook /staff thingy (not sure what the proper name is) Bless him he is such a lovely chap and not in the least 'vicary' iykwim, very down to earth and a genuine lovely chap.He drives down tomorow morning from just outside Bury (Tottington) where his church is and then drives home straight after the Festival at around 10.00 at night as he has a service first thing on Sunday morning at his church around a 460 mile round trip.
Well time for something to eat
    Cheers everyone

OK guys, just home now, had the optician visit on the way home from work, she was concerned about the pressure in my eyes since my last exam in September because my Dad has glucoma, but glad to say all is well. Because of the delay getting home we have just had Mr T pizza for dinner and I have just opened a bottle of wine. OH is now watching rugby while I play on here. Nothing going to move off this sofa this evening for anyone.
Flutterbyuk, I am so sorry to hear about the heart murmur but now that its been discovered it can be sorted, try not to worry too much. Nice of your parents to give you that present, enjoy your treats tonight, you deserve them. JO good to hear Shelly is doing well. Bitsy, lol at your feeling exposed but I know what you mean...can't remember much else about what I read but hope everyone has a good evening, hope those feeling poorly or pee'd off feel better soon.
Cait, at long last signing on:rotfl:

Yes, it's me. Right in the middle of doing a load of cooking for our Pre-Christmas Fair (or 'Fayre' as it says on the posters UGH!) my DS1 phones. He has been battling an unhappy situation at home and things have finally come to a head and he has left. I've not heard him sound so positive and upbeat for months. His wife is frankly a waste of space - spends all day in bed, if he doesn't clean the house and see to her 2 young boys then no-one does. When he's on late shifts he says he feels too tired to start ironing and putting clothes away. Anyway, there was an almighty bust up and he has gone off to stay with his 2 half sisters for a bit. They are wonderful to him, he only found them a few years ago when he decided to trace his birth mother and the all get on very well. He has a long journey to work but it's doable for a couple a months and he is going to look out for a small studio flat to rent. I feel that a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I've been so worried about him. Just had to share this with someone and you folks were the first people I thought of.

Back to the cooking marathon. I've done a sticky toffee pudding, a chocolate fudge cake and an apple crumble and am just starting on leek and potato soup - we're doing a Soup and Pudding lunch. I was going to make cream of tomato soup but I think I'm going to bung the tomatoes back in the freezer, from whence they came, and open some decidedly unOS tins, or I'll be cooking until the early hours.

Sorry this is a selfish post, all about me, me, me.
Life will be better after the weekend.

    Love you.
