Lunch was lovely, the haircut is an abomination. I'm also pretty hacked off that when they put me in with a different stylist, as my old one has changed salons, they didn't tell me that she was £46 compared to his £34

Still, it's done now and I guess my fringe will grow back. *sigh*

Money is tight, as I ended up spending more than I wanted to on the Blessed Haircut, so I have £19.29 in my purse until Friday. I only need a few bits of groceries though so it should be fine, barring disasters. I'll be getting less money this week too thanks to last weeks bank holiday.

    Credit card balance - £109.93

My £10 minimum payment is due out in the next day or two, then I'll pay the rest of it from my savings. Seven days to work in my temp job :D

As you say fringe will grow back in.
I've just had mine cut back in actually.

My payslip is available online today and I'm going to be getting £168 on Friday having not been at work on the bank holiday.

I'm going to pay £90 in to my bills account which will bring it to £354.20 with around £295 of bills to debit by the following Friday.

I did an online tax calculation yesterday and it appears that HMRC owe me a refund but after 28 minutes on hold (!!) all they could tell me was that they don't have all the information that they need from my various employers. I'm going to call them again in a month...

    :wave:Hello!

I have just spent an age catching up with you! I was an avid follower of your diary about 2 and a half years ago - life then got in the way and now I need to get back on the MSE wagon so here I am.

Now, off to make a cuppa so I can go back and read through your posts (not 2 and a half years worth!) I just wanted to say hello first.

Nice to see a familiar face - and I love the new name :D

    You do? Aw shucks!

I'm good thanks! In a new job now and had a pay rise but I seem to have less money than before?! Hence me being back! Challenging myself to save £5k before my birthday in September!

All caught up your journey! Well, mostly! Sounds like you've had an interesting couple of years?! Are you well? That's the main thing! :)

I'm very well! Starting a new job in a week so excited (and scared) about that but otherwise plodding along much as before.

    Speaking of which....

I currently have £45 in my food/spends account but thanks to the visit from my parents last weekend I still have over £35 in my purse :D That'll keep me going until payday on Friday.

I'm apparently going to get paid from my new job on the 18th of June, so I only have about three weeks without pay which isn't too bad.

I'm going to do a budget at the end of the month but think I have to find around £300 for direct debits before payday on the 18th and then just live as cheaply as I can in the intervening period. I'll do a proper budget with my last pay on the 31st.

I'm just glad I don't have to wait till the middle of July like I thought!!
