I'm trying cash living again this week. I am getting too used to using my credit card and not being organised enough to pay it off with my weekly wages. It's making my savings deplete more quickly that I would like.

So, yesterday I did the weekly shop (about £25) and have exactly £39 left in my purse. I'm looking forward to seeing how long that lasts!

This morning I have already prepped the veg for dinner, boiled eggs to have as part of my lunchtime salad and cleaned the kitchen. There's a load of washing to go out before work too.

I love being organised, I just don't know how long it's going to last :D

I managed a NSD yesterday for the first time in goodness knows how long :j

Won't be the case today as I need to put some petrol in the car (Not much!) and buy a few bits of food. Mr Mooo is trying to eat me out of house and home :D

Congrats on the job Moomin, and the NSD.

    No .... don't tell me ......

Very tempted to cash in the coin bags (£80 bagged & separated from pots) but don't need one .... I've been spending far too much recently - so unorganised and £5 here and there nearly everyday!

Not had a NSD myself for AGES:o must start the spending diary again!

I love it, but there's good and bad points.

Good: I got the HD one and it's ace for watching movies (although that's another £5 per month to LoveFilm. Excellent storage space on it too.

Bad: It's heavier than my Kindle, so it's not as easy to hold for a long time for reading. It is also WiFi dependant for internet which is a bit of a PITA when you're out and about :D

    Budget time....

    Money in bills account: £158.51

Bills still to debit (May): £466.50

    Difference = £307.99

Four Friday paydays are left in May (the last one will be tiny so I'm not considering it) so I am going to budget £90 per week to go to bills - this will also cover renewing my bus pass for another four weeks before I find out if I get parking at my new job!

That's going to make budgeting a lot easier for the remainder of this month and next month I'll just have to take a month's worth of bills out of my savings account. Thankfully that's not too much to withdraw. Once I have a regular salary again I can do a real budget and figure out how to start saving again :D

Current credit card balance is: £222.66
Available to pay for it: £70
    Shortfall: £153.66

I'm going to look at PADding again as I have until the 17th of May to clear the balance. I could use my savings for this but I want to avoid that if I can.

And so the MSE journey wobbles on...!

**EDIT** And for anyone keeping score, I have £13.02 left from my £39 thanks to petrol (£10), lightbulbs (£3) and assorted food bits being required. I won't spend it by payday on Friday though so I'm carrying some over till next week already, woo!

    Today's balance: £227.48
Available to pay for it: £85 (got my reward payments for my bank account)
    Shortfall: £142.48

I also got an email from Quidco confirming a whopping £1.08 payout so that'll go in the pot soon too :D
