    Money

Spendy money: £45.87 (plus about £6 in my purse)
Bills money: £368.68 (all bills covered till the end of the month)
Food: £95.01 (better than I thought!)

Next payday: 28th (9 days to go!)

This isn't looking too bad to be honest, moving to weekly is going to be hard though and I will have two weeks where I don't have a full wage due to the Christmas/New Year bank holidays.

The job itself is not entirely as advertised (pretty dull) but it's money so I'm trying to be positive about it, and am sending off applications for other things left, right and centre :D
  • Weekly pay is OK once you get the hang of it - and it always seemed easier somehow I guess as you never had big gaps without any money coming in. Not as easy for budgeting for things like mortgage payments etc tho'

How typical the job's not as advertised - still, it'll keep the bills paid for now & sure something better will turn up in the New Year.

Spendy money: £61.01 (plus £30.14 in my purse - yay, birthday money!)
Bills money: £334.74 (all bills covered till the end of the month)
Food: £86.38 and I'm doing most of the Christmas food shopping tonight. I did use £4 from our food budget to buy my neighbour chocolates, which is cheating a little but never mind :D

Next payday: 28th (9 days to go!)

I got my wages through from Fat Club this morning which was just over £50 and that's gone straight to my holiday fund as I'm having a weekend away in February. I'm aiming to have £300 for that (including hotel costs) and I'm already at £124.91.

    Oh, and it's Friday :D

    Spendy money: £30
Bills money: £124.76 (all bills covered till the end of the month)
Food: £28.13 as I did a massive top-up on Friday night so we're fine for things like catfood for the next couple of weeks. No more shopping without lists though!

Next payday: 28th (9 days to go!)

I transferred over £150 this morning from my savings account which is going to start up the buffer fund for my bills when I get paid weekly. I'm going to have to keep a careful eye on things as this week I get a full wage but next week only three days pay (off Christmas and Boxing Day) and the week after four days (off New Years Day).

Christmas-wise it's all done :D The presents are bought and wrapped and I remembered to take the turkey crown out of the freezer this morning so that'll be defrosted by morning. Just one more day of work to suffer through!

  • Don't you get paid for the Bank Holidays when you are an agency worker?

Might a permanent job come out of it?

    Hi Mooomin,

Re Hol pay, you should be entitled to 29 days hol pay a year if your contract is anything like mine was - legally you have 20 days hol pay + 8 for bank hols. You do have to earn them first though but that is just over half a day a week. Therefore while you don't have the amount for hol pay during Christmas week you should have a days worth for New Year if you choose to take it. They usually don't pay it unless you ask. Also you must check when their holiday year ends as you must take your holidays before or they won't often pay you them later - I nearly lost 4.5 days pay last March because of that one - they can be very sneaky.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas, and good luck for the New Year.
