MSE News: Free £5 for Amex holders when they spend a fiver

I did the original amexfoursquare offer in summer, and after endless hassle and many complaints it did work.....but once bitten twice shy.
Living in a rural northern area am impressed that my nearest pub is on it, but have noticed the big city is showing a Harvey nicks and gap offer. Has anyone tried them? Is it pain free? Is it the Amex offers as never been notified.
Harvey nicks and Gap offers are both Amex. Same as in the summer, you check in on foursquare and load the offer to your card then just spend normally in the store. I did them both earlier this week and got the notifications in the foursquare app instantly.0 -
Does anyone know if the £5 will be paid if I register my card after I've spent in the participating retailers? I've only just found out about this promotion, but have spent the qualifying amount in at least 4 retailers this month already!! Don't want to miss out on £20 worth because the promotion has been poorly promoted

It definitely won't be paid retrospectively0 -
Greyraccoon- thanks ::T:T:T
I feel a trip to the city coming on:j
Note for some of posts above- in summer we found each make of phone shows different visuals and different instructions. Proceed with caution and make sure you follow all the instructions.0 -
Nowhere near me (Wiltshire) taking part except a bar/nightclub in Swindon

..or, you know, you could ask if they accept Amex before you buy

That did oocur to me and I did, and I was told they did accept it. The girl was Italian to be fair and something obviously got lost in translation, she held her hands up and accepted that she gave me duff information.0 -
Have just registered with the Shop Small website and it seems that there aren't any retailers anywhere near me at all! I searched an area covering 200 miles and still had no luck. Waste of time if you live in the South West...0

Try again : as noted above there's at least one (I found about a dozen but still...) in Swindon - there's a couple of dozen in Exeter & Yeovil & Bath - all within 200 miles of whatever you define as 'South West' I'd say
Try the post code link http://www.amexshopsmall.co.uk/0 -

St Austell, Plymouth, 60+ listed. Don't think you're using the map correctly. It's a bit fiddly0 -
Just came across this and signed up only to find there are NO retailers in Glasgow, or indeed north of the border. What's that all about?0
