MSE News: Free £5 for Amex holders when they spend a fiver

I had a meal in a restaurant on Friday that is in included in the list in the website, but I didn't receive the email about the cashback (which I received when I previously ate in another restaurant).
Is there anything I can do?0 -
As per other thread, it's £5 per card not per account so if you have additional cardholders you can get £10+

Yes, call Amex. They may give you the £5 anyway - see story in other thread0 -
Hi,
What I'm unsure about is that when I see companies which have signed up to the 'shop small' thing ,not all of them on the map show up as orange stating their offer eg £5 back for a £5 spend etc.
So I'm presuming the cashback only works in those specific shops or eateries that show the 'special offer' and not just because they are on the 'shop small'
map.
I went to a few shops today that were marked as £5 back and gap which was £10 back.
Can anyone please confirm this for me please.
Thanks.0 -

Not sure which map you are using or even which promotion you are talking about but I've only ever seen purple dots on the map. No other colours.

And Gap as in the multinational company? Not likely to be part of the shop small promotion0 -
The map is on the foursquare app , which shows all shops etc but only certain ones are orange and show the £5 cashback.
'Use your synced American Express Card: Spend £10 or more in one purchase from 09 November, 2012 to 08 December, 2012 and get a £10 statement credit at GAP. Limit one credit per card.'
This was the Gap offer.
I think I will just stick with the orange businesses in case the other ones haven't signed up to the November promo.0 -

If the orange businesses correlate with the map above then that would seem like a good plan. The map posted above has been 95% accurate for me so far. Only one merchant didn't accept Amex - they thought they could accept it but they couldn't process a payment when they tried.
I don't use the foursquare app and I'm not sure if the two overlap at all.0 -
Went to my local in Berkshire on Sunday for lunch, checked in on Foursquare but hadn't even thought about the offer, shop small deal came up so I loaded on card, £5 credit already on statement, brilliant!
My personal view is I wouldn't actively shop somewhere with the cashback offer just in case there are issues getting the £5, I just see it as a bonus!0 -
I did the original amexfoursquare offer in summer, and after endless hassle and many complaints it did work.....but once bitten twice shy.
Living in a rural northern area am impressed that my nearest pub is on it, but have noticed the big city is showing a Harvey nicks and gap offer. Has anyone tried them? Is it pain free? Is it the Amex offers as never been notified.0 -
Does anyone know if the £5 will be paid if I register my card after I've spent in the participating retailers? I've only just found out about this promotion, but have spent the qualifying amount in at least 4 retailers this month already!! Don't want to miss out on £20 worth because the promotion has been poorly promoted
