    Goodnight everyone

    Play nicely ;)

(i nearly typed "play nice" but whenever someone says something like that I always hear Alastair McGowans Gary Linekar going "it's an adverb!!")
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen

I've got a poorly doggy :(:( Little Molly has kennel cough and is wearing herself out retching the phlegm up :( I rang the emergency vet about 9pm to ask for advice a there was some blood in it, but she said that all they can do is treat her with antibiotics as it is an upper respiratory infection

She is asleep at the moment, having just had an hour of coughing, etc. She will rest for a half hour or so, then start again, so I am sitting up with them. Bess did sneeze a couple of times yesterday and was 'wheezy' as if she had a cold, but has been fine today. They have both been off their food today though, just ate a little soft food, ignoring their dry food. They have both slept a lot today

So I am ringing the vet first thing in the morning to get Molly an appointment and get her checked and on antibiotics as soon as possible. The vet advised that she would be in for a very uncomfortable couple of days though :(

Evening - it has taken me a long time to catch up tonight, as kept losing interest when the bickering as going on :(:( Not what lots of us want to see when we come on here to share our day, glitches, chatter, worries, etc :(

I will say one thing only on this. There are many lovely posters on here, on FB and elsewhere. It is the minority, as in real life, that stir up trouble, so please, think again when labelling everyone on FB, in the FB group, or anywhere else, the same. 'The Elite' is this thread, so I keep posting here, but I do check on FB too, to keep up to date on thing, and to chat at times. The main thing is that 'the thread' keeps on finding glitches, bargains, helping each other out in any way we can, and being a lovely place for us to come for information, support and fun. I have depended greatly on the support I found on here, and don't want others to lose out on it by being put off by the bickering and deliberate stirring

I don't know if that came out as intended, but I've said it now :D

    Fantastic - well done that lad :T :T :T :T

Very pleased that some others have managed to get the DTD pork joints too ............... and very nice they are too. I cooked one of them tonight and had the meat sliced into nice soft rolls - the stuffing is yummy :j :j

3dogs, i do hope my post hasn't made people think that i am accusing all the facebook members of being troublemakers, this was truly not my intention, i really didn't mean this and do apologise if anyone has taken this meaning from my post.
i do understand and agree with you wholeheartedly that there are lots of truly lovely people on this thread, my sadness lies in the fact that a lot of truly lovely people no longer post here and are missed by many who still do
mmm..... these strawberries make my breath happy mum ds

On a strand of pure silver, I'll welcome each day

Oooops, I did have a couple of notes:

Shellybee - what a great win hun, that is one beautiful handbag and you will feel fantastic when using it:j :j :j

Spiralingdown - hope you get a good sleep and the pain eases hun :A

Warby - I forgot to thank you for the malt details - a lovely bottle of Glenmorangie jumped into my trolley on Tuesday and a Glenfiddich 12 yr old did the same on Wednesday   Not that I needed them as I have loads of drink in the house, but it is always nice to have a good selection of spirits, especially whisky, to choose from ;)

I haven't been out at all today, not even to take the dogs out  but they haven't wanted out for a walk, as I said, just sleeping

    Hi all
I am a long time lurker but a complete newbie, I have been following the last few threads and have finally caved and come out of lurker-dom. You all seem like a friendly bunch and I hope you don't mind adding another one to your group.

    Welcome, :)

I agree with you there grass roots, the thread is weaker without them and all the better and stronger with them here. I just wanted to express my dismay at generalisations being made which add to the 'us' and 'them' attitude. It just seems that whenever anyone mentions the FB group, it is always in a negative way, whereas it was never intended as that, and in fact isn't like that. Though, obviously, when bickering, or whatever, happens here, it spills over to FB, and, indeed, the other way too

Just been sorting out some paperwork on my desk, and came across our Goodwood Festival of Speed tickets for 28th June ........................... which we were looking forward to going to and meeting other Elite there .................... but we didn't make it :( In fact, on that day, Alan was transferred from Kings Lynn hospital where he'd been for 2 days, to the palliative unit in Wisbech .................. and then passed away on 3rd July

As I said recently, it seems like such a long long time ago, but is only 4 months. Seems like a lifetime to me :(:(

Anyway, did the ones that did go to the event have a good time? I never did catch up around that time
