Easyjet fly directly to BCN, I used it last year when me and other half spent a week in Sitges. Was great as single ticket from BCN train station to Sitges was only €4.80 and was in hotel in under an hour from leaving plane!0

Reus and Girona have traditionally served the holiday resorts nearby Salou, Lloret de Mar etc until the arrival of the lowcost airlines! As Ryanair always use secondary locations as the landing fees etc are cheaper than the main city airports, they still insist on trying to pass off the airports they use as close to the main city.
The likes of Monarch when operating their scheduled flights (under ZB flight codes) fly to the main airports.
A couple of years ago we went on holiday to La Pineda (about 10mins from Salou) we went to Barcelona for the day and it took a couple of hours on the coach to get there. On an earlier post it was quoted as the journey taking about an hour it is a lot longer than an hour but worth the visit.
In fact going to Barcelona for a few days next month but flying to the main airport BCN.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Buses at Reus Airport
Airport - Barcelona
Line covering the route between the airport and the city of Barcelona (María Cristina square and Sants station). This journey takes around 90 minutes and the buses can be caught directly outside of the arrivals terminal. The timetables do vary throughout the year as the journeys are planned to meet the flights that are arriving each day. The fares to Barcelona are €20 for a round trip and €13 for a single trip.

Harsh? I only said Gatwick is not in London!! Both airports are approx 30 miles from London.
When I lived in west London, I always found Luton easier to get to than Gatwick.0 -

I went on a siteseeing trip from Salou to Barcelona over Easter. It took approx 1hr 30minutes by bus to reach Barcelona city. The airport is South of Barcelona, so it would probably take just over an hour to reach.0
